Members are sharing strategies for optimizing teams featuring Mega Beedrill, Zoroark, and Rhyperior for both singles and doubles formats. This discussion highlights the community's collaborative approach to competitive team building and overcoming the challenges of low-tier draft leagues.

So, I am in a private MLP group that has 8 trainers. This season involves making a team out of the bottom 100 pokemon. My drafted team includes Mega Beedrill, Farfetch'd, Gogoat, Rhyperior, Pikachu, Machamp, Zoroark, Mr. Mime, and Kanto Tauros. So far, my singles consist of the team added. I feel like this is probably the strongest set for it, but I need help with doubles. I can create a doubles team that uses different movesets and spreads, so I'm not limited in that aspect. This team struggled heavily in the 10 matches of doubles that I played in.

noblewalrus-82 OP

So far, Zoroark has been clutch, getting a swords dance in before illusion is broken, and then can usually carry with STAB night daze, but when something happens and he gets OHKO'd, I'm kind of SOL with the rest it feels like

mellowquiver-61

B-Beedrill?

mellowquiver-61

I highkey dont know what beedrill does on this team

mellowquiver-61

Sash plot zoroark might be cool

mellowquiver-61

Id run a bulkier mime with fake out wide guard dgleam and whatever as the last move

Within that draft, I’d start by keeping Beedrill, Mr. Mime and Rhyperior as your core. Your singles sheet already has useful doubles tools: Fake Out and Encore on Mime, Protect on Beedrill, and Rock Slide on Rhyperior. The bigger issue is giving your slower attackers usable turns rather than adding more coverage.

I’d test Trick Room on Mr. Mime over Psychic for the Rhyperior/Machamp games, while keeping Beedrill as a separate faster option. You don’t have to bring both speeds every match. I’d also replace Quick Claw on Machamp with a consistent item such as Sitrus Berry if it’s free; relying on a random activation makes positioning harder to learn. With Gogoat, remember Grassy Seed only activates when Grassy Terrain is actually present—you currently have to spend a turn setting it yourself.

Yeah, I realize I made that mistake in the sheet. It is set with nasty plot on it after I posted it
