The Otherworld is a composite of all the far-off lands from various myths and legends of the real world. I've pulled inspiration from everything from the Arthurian cycles to the Mahabharata. The setting itself takes place in the late 15th century, and all of my sources of inspiration date from that century to anything prior. This is to preserve the distinctly medieval and classical feel of the setting, which I feel early modern and modern folklore deviates from. I've strived to keep as true to the original mythos as closely as possible, whilst also expanding off of it where I deem appropriate in order to make it more exciting and compatible with the format of a ttrpg (the setting is for D&D). It is not wholly accurate for this reason, and there are many pieces of lore that are stitched together from multiple unrelated sources or even entirely made up by myself, but it is accurate in the ways I wish it to be.

This drive contains just about every piece of lore put to writing so far, though much of the lore is yet to leave my head:

This is a race of rabbit people I based on the murderous bunnies drawn in illuminated manuscripts throughout the middle ages. I tried to give a sympathetic basis for their killings

Their name is derived from the ancient Greek word for hare, Lagos
I would never call a hit on Magni just to make that happen
We can only hope
Speaking of Magni, Trolls are one of my favorite factions/creatures I've made. I took inspiration from the several historical allusions to monsters being descended from the biblical Cain, particularly in the instance of Grendel from Beowulf, and ran with it. The trolls themselves are cobbled together from the few physical descriptions we get in old norse sagas, and from various similar creatires from medieval texts (namely the old english "the wonders of the east").
