Operation Safe Place 0.6.72: sharper fights and a closer look
- Echofall's Dark Stalkers really attack now. They rear up with both blades, cut one after the other with glowing trails and throw themselves into the strike. Their warning on the ground is a bright ring that fills as the strike comes (now also on raised ground), and every strike leaves claw marks and a shock ring. They have their own growl and whoosh.
- Fishing comes alive. Swing the rod back and cast, hold it while you wait, pull and reel when a fish bites (the line goes tight), and watch your catch leap out of the water into your hand. Other operatives see your moves too.
- Aim Lock (PC, tap Ctrl): the camera sits further over your shoulder, so the reticle is clear of your avatar and your wings and accessories stay visible.
- Buildings: the camera no longer slips inside the city's buildings when you stand close to a wall.
- Fishing on phones is tidier. The tip above the fishing button no longer sits on top of it, and big event banners now wait until your reel and catch card are done instead of covering them.
- Athera update: better rods and bait now really change your catch, and fishing shows your luck and bait left; Fox hands out the breach kit again; lost toys say what you got; the children run and wave for real; a mountain stream with a new round pond, and holes in cliffs and ground filled across the map.
- Athera update 2: each fishing rod now has its own model, line and bobber, and the dearer rods cast, fight and lift with bigger, flashier moves; the phone map names each town once and keeps labels off the zoom buttons.
- Athera update 3: real motion-capture animations: fishing casts, waits, fights and lifts like a real angler, the quest board keepers and the Bait & Tackle keeper move and greet you, and the city's people are now full characters who really walk.
