Operation Safe Place 0.6.70: Athera Fishing
- Go fishing anywhere in Athera. Stand by open water and tap FISH (V on PC, X on a controller). Wait for the bobber to dip, then tap REEL when the fish is in the green.
- 24 fish to find. Sea, river and lake fish, night fish, fish that only bite in storms and fog, and one very rare fish that only appears under the Aurora of Light or a Starfall. Each catch has a weight, so you can always beat your best.
- Bait & Tackle stall in the Citadel gardens: four rods (more luck, quicker bites, a wider catch zone) and three baits, all at fixed Courage prices. The rarest bait is also found, very rarely, on a catch.
- Fish codex at the stall shows every species you have found and where to look for the rest.
- Citadel Aquarium beside the gardens: every kind of fish you catch swims in it.
- Hot spots: look for leaping fish at Fortress Falls, the river and the Southern Sea shore. Fishing there raises your luck.
- Quests: the city quest boards now have fishing quests too.
- Swimming: holding jump at the surface gives steady kicks instead of popping you out of the water.
- Fishing polish (Athera update): the rod is put away right after a catch or when you draw a weapon; a cleaner Bait & Tackle panel, signs and rod rack; quest boards scroll and their timer counts down live; the CLAIM mark shrinks with distance; holding jump under water no longer makes you jump.
