CommunityOne Builders Help: Growth Update
It has been 3 years I made my Discord server which is a social community I do not know why I chose the path of no promotion giveaways or ping for ping partnerships I did not allow dating in my server I always chose organic and real members who feel included in a family not just a member of a server But just imagine one thousand members in three years I feel like I am just wasting time or what I thought I would do some online events sell tickets or memberships and start hosting real life events but that part is still too far I recently discontinued using Disboard because there is no point in being there I only had a handful of members every month who do not care about the community at all and I knew I got members from ChatGPT Google and other social platforms Once I made my own web page like a top Indian Discord server listing and I kept my own server on top and this is what other communities do to grow even a company like DigitalOcean I got tons of members every day I felt shameful about fooling people I thought it is better that other platforms call us top and rank us higher and we get better reviews to attract quality members And this new path destroyed me I do not have new member joins anymore We have been stuck on the same number for two months The goal for this year was five thousand members and we did not even hit two thousand According to the growth rate we should have hit two thousand already I feel so tired and like a failure I will not give up but it is painful After all this I am still stupid I am going to remove other self promotional content from server listings soon too
huh first, i think u should be a bit kinder to yourself. after all, it is not easy to get to 1000, becauseyou are already better than 90% of the server, it's great to have a goal, but the important thing is to enjoy the journey, and if u gonna get there later, that's okay
second, do you have any good ideas on the flow of the server
for exampl,e how many are coming in vs leaving
third, take this as an opperutnity, u can now look at yuor server closely and then decide what to do, u can decide to change the metric, u can decide to change the marketing or anything in between
Growth is the best motivator, and I hope I get back on track soon.

I think I felt that way because these days I see so many new servers reaching 1,000+ members through scammy giveaways, dating chaos, and nonstop promotion all at once.
But I truly love the journey of staying genuine, building something pure, and creating a real family.

so people are chatting 35 message per day per person, which is like a lot a lot!
have u thought about hosting som events where your members have to make groups (some sort of competition)
so that they have natural incentives to bring their friends
Yup we got 60k msg per month
We once had crossed 150k msg/month miletstone too
i am sure that they are very willing to bring their friends there
the thing about engagement is that yoou should think about engagement as "conversion", like if there are things that you want community member to help out, they are gonna be more than willing to

Longest running event of 6 months and no one participated

I asked everyone to dump gallery and it gone really insane i never imagined those skilled unreal photography

I'm still teen i can't earn in india legally
I dont have pocket money
The only reward i can give is rank nothing else
I can't find sponsors for events
So yea..
We do parliament session at every saturday midnight
I'm planning with my team to live stream that stage session on yt
I don't have pc or laptop so i can't do streams myself im dependent on them
I tried youtube shorts and that didn't work
Will create one more content myself i think

Sponsor based events on discord is very new concept never saw anyone doing this
Even if i do find a sponsor and what if no one participate in event

Everyone is active at moderation currently
huh i think one of th thing that u should think about is to recruit for members to help you out
so for example, if you are not good at youtube shorts, mayb someone in your community can be great at it and they will teach you
How about long content and streams instead
We already started working on it
i dont know, i know people get consistent new viewers from twitch, but its really hard work
and also I think twitch is not great with visibitliies, so u got to make clips and then put them on youtube for visibilitis
It requires clickbait content
By the way i was working on something today
Like fixing some old webhook content from server with new data
And record it for star partnership application
I got server base for the community but its hard to put everything on single mobile screen recording
ah have u talked to about the communityone star partnership program?
I only remember we had talked about this on Office Hour and then i checked web page of it
the way i see it, and i truly truly mean it, engagement is key at the end of the day, we will work on more ways to help you monetize, but I can tell you that whwn we pitch to advertisor, we wont talk about how big a server is, message per member will be our KPI for engagement
good things come slowly
and having solid fundamental allows you to scale in the future
