Hey! I’m the new Steel Gym Leader and I need your help to upgrade my teams. Overall they're pretty cool, but if you see any flaws, feel free to drop your thoughts!
Team 1: Orthworm used to be great, but now feels a bit outdated. Fighting-types are giving me a really hard time here. You can either swap just 1 Pokémon to keep the exact same core skeleton, or swap 2-3 Pokémon to build a fresh synergy/tactic (just don't change everything!).

What if u use light clay, reflect, light screen, rain dance, twave, so u have better survivability against excadrill/cc
I don't think damp rock is necessary, coz opponent can reset the weather easier than you through switching Mon.

lucarios job feels weird on team 1
i'd put iron defense on corv since your only attacking move is body press
team of steel types, and your only good steel move is iron head on king
I like team 2 a lot more
for speed control, probably put icy wind over grass knot on empoleon
you have orthworm, so i suggest eiter putting swords dance on gambit, or switch item and put nasty plot on ghold
so you can setup behind a shed tail
stealth rocks in doubles? thats debatable. id be a bit more onboard for dealing with yard, but you have ttaar

I have ice beam + grassknot is for swampert
surf on empoleon is weird, you dont have anyone who absorbs it from water absorb or anything, and it hits ttar hard so you might need to risk the hydro pump
switch icy wind for ice beam then
other than those, i think its mostlys fine

Well, I felt that fighting and ground pokemons were overwhelming me

you have ghold and metagross respectivly
when making a mono-type your always gonna run into issues
This is spare team so I didn't worry about it that much.
but you'll need to learn where to take advantage

The problem is with the frequent fire and fighting types in this meta there is no time for this. That's why o don't run setups
orthworm does a lot into the ground types though, i suggest keepin it

without sand rush? people overestimate how fast the guy really is. he only has 88 speed

adding basc just makes your team really weak to sucker

thats what i mean. run bulk so it can survive by the time it gets to it's turn

sizor is netrual to ground, tinkaton offers fakeout and support, goodra is a wall
Tinkaton is another bulky steel focused pokemon ( good typing) it's the same as goodra. Scizor is fast asf

it just presses priority all the time
So scizor or tinkaton ( i have swampert + Metagross sometimes so dont need a wall )

also, if val asks what connection swampert has to steel, just say it has abs of steel
imo, - instead of covering for teams that heavily counters your typing.
Go for teams that account for all 8 gyms, I also think that playing mono type is very different than ladder.

If it's weak to neither you either use kingambit or play Sneasler kingambit early game to break
