Torkoal Vileplume Package Help

hi guys i am new to vgc and i really like sweeping with torkoal eruption but vileplume is so slow im getting outsped by tailwind teams or just lose my weather to rain team, this is the team ive been running so far with garchomp to beat zard and kingambit for basc but i still get swept by swamperts and that bridge. any help is appriciated thx.
(note i would just play trickroom but i cant seem to get farigiraf or mawile)

What about hydreigon instead of garchomp? It can run snarl for charizard matchups and also is helpful for basc, arch(if you run earth power), and swampert. Then you could switch out kingambit to help with your rain matchup. Maybe a whimsicot with sunny day or a grimsnarl with screens and parting shot.
what item is good on whimsie if my sash is taken already?

Vileplume has decent natural bulk you might be able to get away with using a berry on it instead and use the sash on whims
I was also thinking that if whims isn’t working a second mega in that slot might be nice. I usually like to run double mega because it’s so hard to have one mega cover all matchups

That’s not a bad idea. I think grimsnarl might be better than whims for this team. You could parting shot in your torkal for weather control. You could also use sleep powder on the vileplume instead of sludge bomb or sunny day.

Since you have ice fang on aero it’ll probably be worth it to put protect on metagross over ice punch
whimsicot definetly is the move im on a 4 game winstreak into mostly staraptors and some rain
