Summary
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments community explores the tactical differences between high-speed Tailwind teams and low-speed Trick Room setups. This discussion provides sample team builds and expert analysis on optimizing speed tiers and support options for competitive play. It serves as a valuable resource for trainers looking to diversify their teambuilding skills beyond standard balance archetypes.
I have started to realise that I am kinda overly reliant on middling speed pokemon and don't rly use that many rly fast or rly slow pokemon so I wanted to try gain more experience with both groups.
As such I made a hard tr and a tailwind team, with mostly rly fast or rly slow pokemon.

Slow team - https://pokepast.es/2bdedea1946250a3
Let me make it clear that I have no plans on switching permanently from balance, given how much I love the archetype and that these are more fun teams, made kinda quickly with an emphasis on teaching myself more variety in teambuilding that being necessarily top of the class.
I also absolutely despise weather so I tried my best to not use weather at all on either team, let me know your thoughts and if there is anything I can improve
Also I am prob asleep when you read this so pls don't ping me, I'll check it later on
hey question what website do you use to make the teamsheets
You can export pokepastes with pokemon showdown
ohh ok
Gm
Haha that’s actually a scary looking tr team !
Go slower lol
Also what does sinis add here ?
Secondary tr with some sustain but these teams usually don’t like sustain much. I looked into life dew on my Clefairy in a older format and I opted not for it because it it doesn’t really help me kill them in my Tr turns like helping hand or encore did
I found farig is so reliable at setting tr
The only support he needed was like something to shut down imprison so a nuke or if my secondary setter was taunt immune
And theirs only two options for that or mental herb
Aromatisse or hatterene
I’d say you need tork but you don’t
Azumaril and drampa have that sorted
That’s dragalgea lol
I read wrong
Go drampa lol 😂
No drampa so you do need tork
bro locked ini the second he saw tr 😭
They share 2 weaknesses dragalge only shares 1
The sinistcha is just my comfort food hatterene makes sense ig
And I'd replace azumarill with araquanid (my goat) then
Azumarill is hard to pass up
It’s the goat
It’s compares with kingambit
In my HTR teams haha
There can only be one
I like araquanid more tbh, its cooler, more bulky and has wide gaurd
I played against the dnite whirwil team game 1
And game 2 I lost to a sun team
The slow team feels pretty good, the fast team feels terrible, prob cuz feraligator aint fast
Actually 3 of the pokemon aint fast so I need to make it faster
But you need end game prio
Crab has Mach punch
True
Azumaril and crab have the same role kinda
You don’t need both
I see crab as an alternative to my king slot also 😆
Mawile tho
Unfortunate how common it is. It’s the best

What do you do when you see zeroark and their sole purpose is to taunt farig and you can’t tell what one it is
Kinda having a hard time into opposing mawile because they’re that good
Incin and drampa do share fighting weakness
Hatterne is x4 resistant to fighting
Tends to be a weirdly safe switch
Mawile kinda cracked
Indeed if they save her for end game clean up on me I’m in trouble
Underspeeds my incin
Yessir
Iron ball incin because I’m sick of brave kings
Quiet Sylveons
And now mawiles also
All issues for my incin
Yeah Incin be like that
