📜 STORYBOT — THE UNWRITTEN CHRONICLE

StoryBot allows Holmans to create one unpredictable story together. One member begins the chronicle, another is chosen to continue it, and the narrative travels randomly from writer to writer until it reaches its conclusion.

No single participant controls where the story goes.

JOIN THE AUTHORS

/join

Adds you to StoryBot’s active author list. If you previously paused your participation, /join returns you to active writing.

Keep your Discord DMs open so StoryBot can notify you and request your contribution when your turn arrives.

✍️ Joining means you accept that:

• You may be selected at random.
• You should respond when reasonably able.
• Later writers may change the story’s direction.
• No participant owns the communal narrative.
• Every contribution must obey Holme’s laws.

WHEN YOUR TURN ARRIVES

StoryBot will tell you that you have been selected. Read the existing story carefully before adding your passage.

📚 You may respond through the instructions StoryBot sends privately, or use:

/write

This lets you contribute without sending the passage through DMs, provided that it is currently your turn.

📑 Your passage may:

• Continue the present scene.
• Introduce a character or location.
• Resolve or deepen a mystery.
• Add humor, conflict, or an unexpected discovery.
• Redirect the plot in a surprising—but usable—direction.

After your contribution is accepted, StoryBot chooses another author.

Do not use /write to interrupt someone else’s turn.

READ THE CHRONICLE

/story

Requests a story from StoryBot. Complete the choices Discord presents to locate and read the desired chronicle.

Use this before writing so your contribution follows what has already been established.

COMMAND HELP

/help

Displays StoryBot’s current commands and instructions. Because the bot may receive updates, its live /help menu is the final authority whenever a command changes.

/feedback

Sends appropriate feedback about StoryBot to its developer. Use this for genuine suggestions or technical concerns—not spam.

/keypad

This is StoryBot’s deliberately mysterious hidden feature. It is not required for ordinary collaborative storytelling. Curious archivists may investigate it for themselves.

WRITING ETIQUETTE

Keep contributions readable and give the next author something usable.

⚠️ Do not:

• End the entire story immediately without good reason.
• Repeatedly erase another writer’s contribution through retcons.
• Insert explicit sexual content or prohibited material.
• Target, mock, or impersonate another member.
• Use someone else’s original character without permission.
• Turn the story into personal harassment or arguments.
• Deliberately make participation impossible for the next writer.

Unexpected chaos is part of StoryBot. Deliberate sabotage is not.

Stories created here are community improvisations. They are not official Emora Chronicles canon unless Robert explicitly preserves and recognizes them as such.
