Lebanese Atheists: What Made You Question Faith?

Summary

r/Lebanon invites atheists in Lebanon to share what led them to question or leave religion. The post raises concerns about genocide, natural disasters, disease, lack of evidence for religious claims, and religion’s role in hate and division, opening a discussion about personal perspectives and belief.

To the atheists of Lebanon, what made you wake up?

For me, there are so many strong arguments against the existence of a true God, from the everyday horrors of genocide, natural disasters, and disease, to the fact that humans have created countless religions over the millennia without ANY real evidence for any of them whatsoever. And on top of that, that religion consistently fuels hate, division, and bigotry, and I'd even argue it's the best source of those 3 traits. I can also can into the scientific aspect of it more, but I'm more curious about what made you wake up to this scam.
