Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has told Hezbollah’s secretary-general that any agreement with Washington must be linked to a ceasefire in Lebanon, stressing that Tehran’s latest proposal for ending the war, delivered via Pakistani mediation, included the necessity of a Lebanon truce.

Leaks and media reports indicate that the US and Iran are close to achieving a more durable ceasefire deal, which would essentially return to the status quo ante on February 27th, 2026, before the war started. The deal would lift the US naval blockade and reopen the blocked Strait of Hormuz, and the nuclear issue would be addressed at a later date.
As expected, the role of Iranian proxies was not discussed, and I highly doubt that any question of proxies will be discussed before a nuclear understanding between the US and Iran even happens.
Therefore, all this Lebanese media commentary that the only thing that matters for the country's trajectory today is the U.S.-Iranian negotiations is wildly inaccurate. As you can see, the Americans and the Iranians agreed on a ceasefire (de-escalation) deal with the main nuclear issue deferred for the future, and no mention of Iranian funding and support for its proxies at all.
So what happens now with the war between Hezbollah and Israel? What happens with the negotiations in the Pentagon with Lebanese military officials? And with the next round of direct Israeli-Lebanese negotiations in June?
Will there be de-escalation on both sides, and will there be any Israeli withdrawal from our territory? All of these are unclear, and clearly, these topics were not debated or discussed in the Iranian-US negotiations.
These are some things that we, as Lebanese, would have to resolve on our own through international diplomacy. Still, the onus of achieving a real ceasefire and liberating the land in South Lebanon will fall to the Lebanese government.
So all these bets that Iran might negotiate a resolution inclusive of Lebanon have been lost and were very inaccurate wishes, bets, or even expectations.
Similarly, people who hoped the US would force Iran to stop funding and arming Hezbollah are expectedly disappointed.
My conclusion is that we are less important than we think, and it's mostly just our immediate neighbors that concern themselves with us. And it's up to us...

I have some leftover sealed KingRoon PLA 3D printing filament I need to sell before I restock . It's about 64kgs of different colors. Selling it way below market if you buy over 10 kgs (10.5$ a kg). Also if you want a smaller quantity I'll do 11$. Message me for colors and quantities. Located in Beirut. The filament is good I've printed with it, can send images of print results on request.

You don't need to watch the whole thing. The first 10-15 minutes are enough to show the extent of the corruption we have in our justice system. These are not based on hearsay. They are naming the people who are actually involved with evidence.

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah warned on Tuesday that the group would confront any military force created with American and Israeli backing to counter Hezbollah inside Lebanon. Speaking during a press conference, Fadlallah said Hezbollah would treat such a force as a direct enemy.
“If Israel and the U.S. manage to form a collaborator army to fight the Resistance, we will fight it just like we fight Israel,” he said.
He argued that the “Resistance” does not require national consensus to continue operating and accused Lebanese officials of making dangerous concessions to Washington and Tel Aviv.

This article draws on a wide and comprehensive range of diverse sources on Hezbollah and Lebanon. It is based on countless hours of research, exchanges with people on the ground, and conversations with those close to the movement.
The chronology of this article is deliberately strict and carefully chosen. If something is mentioned but has not yet been explained and you do not know what it means, simply wait; every term will be explained at the appropriate stage, and no prior knowledge is expected.
As with all our other “Essentials”, the table of contents is intended to serve both as a guide and as a tool for selection. We recommend reading it thoroughly once before beginning the main article. While the individual chapters are explicitly written so they can also be read independently, we recommend reading the entire article in order to gain a complete understanding of the topic.

For years, Hezbollah has acted like a state above the state, assassinating presidents, prime ministers, ministers, journalists, and civilians, while keeping an armed militia outside the control of the Lebanese government. Calling themselves “the resistance” doesn’t erase the damage they’ve done to Lebanon. Wanting the Lebanese state to have full authority and no outlaw militias shouldn’t be controversial; that’s basic sovereignty.
And historically, Lebanon has paid a huge price for other people’s wars. The PLO’s presence and the civil war era devastated the country, and many Lebanese still carry anger over the violence and the years of instability and occupation. Lebanon was also heavily affected by Syrian control for decades. These are painful parts of Lebanese history that people shouldn’t ignore.
What frustrates many Lebanese is the double standard: countries and groups across the region, including Jordan, Egypt, the UAE, Syria at different times, Iran through indirect channels, and Palestinian leadership figures like those involved in the Oslo Accords, have all had direct or indirect dealings with Israel when it suited their interests. Yet when Lebanon discusses its own national interests or possible diplomacy, it’s immediately treated by some as betrayal or “haram.” People are tired of Lebanon constantly being the battlefield for regional agendas while others make pragmatic decisions for themselves

Found this in Crete, Greece. I thought that Israelis claiming that some Lebanese / other levant food is theirs was a joke and just ragebaiting us, but do people actually believe this shit? I found this surprising especially because I see "free palestine" graffiti every few meters here.

I am in my 30s now and i never ever visited tripoli
I am planning to visit it this month but im still a little hesitant due to all the rumors i hear from some people
Is it okay for a guy, with tattoos and piercings to visit there safely?
I want to visit historical sites, the souk, hammam al abed, 5an al saboun, ma3rad rachid karami, etc...
Will i be judged, frowned upon, and get weird looks?
Unfortunately, i once visited the old souk in Saida and i got very weird frowning looks, which led me never to go there again.
I guess it was due to the fact that i have multiple visible tattoos, 1 piercing, and i was wearing a cross
No offence to anyone, but i would like to know if this would be a problem if i visit
Thanks
