Any thoughts on how to improve this team so I could run it in an open team sheet format? One of the main weaknesses I've noticed is Scarf Basculegion, I'm also scared I'm running too much support and lacking in offense.

If scarf basc is a huge issue then I think Gambit might work here

plaidforest-21 OP

Gambit over who though?

happykitten-50

I really like Whimsicott as well as sneasler, so one of the other three

happykitten-50

Idk what the others are doing relative to the team

happykitten-50

Is the redirection from Maushold super important?

plaidforest-21 OP

Mausholds idea was to redirect and facilitate knock outs

@happykitten-50 Is the redirection from Maushold super important?
plaidforest-21 OP

Well, you stop ghosts targetting Chandelure

happykitten-50

Gambit sucker punch does a good job of that

happykitten-50

Gambit in general will discourage ghost types

plaidforest-21 OP

True

plaidforest-21 OP

Incidentally follow me stops opposing sucker punch though

happykitten-50

So does Tsareena

plaidforest-21 OP

True

happykitten-50

I feel like I would but Gambit on instead of Maus, and just being Tsareena to any sucker punch matchup

plaidforest-21 OP

I'm thinking about the sand matchup too ngl

I obviously haven’t tested this myself but this team looks like it’d have an extremely rough matchup against those tailwind teams with Yard and Garchomp

I've had difficulty on the ladder for any team except that

happykitten-50

Hmmmmm
I suppose sunny day Whimsicott would be super important there

True

plaidforest-21 OP

But anyhow I don't think I'm running this team in any tournaments

plaidforest-21 OP

For now

happykitten-50

yeah that's fair

happykitten-50

Also I'm thinking of another couple of things for this
1. Wide Lens on Tsareena so you never miss Axel or power whip
2. Lorb Chomp with stomping tantrum instead of Basc I think would be really helpful for some of Chendelures worse matchups
3. I already mentioned Gambit over maushold haha

plaidforest-21 OP

I like the ideas

happykitten-50

https://pokepast.es/8e73994b1e6e093e This if you want to try it
Idk chandelure enough to change anything else really

happykitten-50

I'm trying to keep the core Idea of being a tailwind team

2 things i adress rn tho are:
I personally would switch tsareena and Basc out for Gambit and Farigiraf.
Im working hard on chandelure to work and saw much of videos and team ideas for it.
Wolfe played it once too and his idea was unironically the most consistend one.
Chandelure and/or Mega Chandelure have a speed where its not entirely wise to run only one way of speed control.
Tailwind is exacly what makes Chandelure more of a threat.

I give you an example of why tailwind is the best choice:
If your enemy is using Tailwind themself and they have Garchomp on their line, it will outspeed your chandelure even if tailwind is up on your side too.
Even Tsareena is inconsistend in that case since rock slide can make it flinch while chandelure might protect.
If you instead brought in a trickroom mode, you outspeed garchomp and can take it out without much difficulty.

Gambit also has an Prankster immunity and would counter enemys trick room with its types commonly well. Given that Steel and Dark both hit at enemy tail room mons for neutral dmg.
Farigiraf would cancel any sort of priority move while also beeing bulky enough to set up trick room or hitting staraptor for super effective dmg in its mega.
You can also run Energy Ball on farigiraf to keep the grass type coverage on a second mon besides chandelure.

oceangrove-82

Even if open team sheets. those 3 pokémon would give much more utility and support to counter many matchups specifically.
Tailroom is tbf a double edged sword.
Take the wrong speed control to your game and you made it much harder to win since you played into the opponents cards.

just my pov as a fellow Mega Chandelure user since day 1
