Hey there! So I’m finding that we need a couple of cabinets at home, one for kitchen stuff (plastic or wood) and one for the living room (wood) just to store some stuff, however, the pricing for these basic items is insane based on what I found.
Yesterday I went to city star to check, and found a horrible quality plastic cabinet for $75, and a terribly flimsy wooden one for $92. $75 for some plastic drawers is diabolical.
Does anyone have any recommendations for places I can check? Iza fi online even better, Iza mafi preferably near metn side.
Thanks!

Has anyone been to Souk el Ahad in Beirut recently?
I’ve been wanting to check it out and was wondering if it’s worth visiting.
Is it generally safe to walk through and browse? What should I expect in terms of crowds, vendors, prices, and the overall atmosphere?
I’m visiting from the US and would be dragging my sister-in-law with me. She is trying her best to convince me that it sucks and not to go lol I need opinions based on experience please.

Here are some explanations :
2019 : Heavy traffic in April (Easter holidays) and during the summer, thanks to the diaspora and tourism. November was the worst month of the year following the October 17th crisis.
2020 : Airport closed from March to July; difficult recovery following the August explosion. Worst year ever recorded.
2021 : Traffic resumes despite Covid restrictions.
2022 : Hyperinflation and the fuel crisis were making for a difficult recovery following the end of Covid restrictions.
2023 : Highest attendance since 2020. Drop in traffic linked to October 7 and the clashes in the south.
2024 : strikes affecting Beirut, especially from October to November. Only MEA was operating during this period.
2025 : A relatively “calm” year despite drones persisting over Beirut, and the resumption of flights to Beirut by foreign airlines.
2026 (now) : US-Iran conflict impacted traffic which is why the numbers are so low from March (Mea was the only company operating this month) to May.
Sources : Creditlibanais ; Blominvest ; Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL)

I know the private generators have been outrageously priced in the past few months. But exactly how much are y'all paying per KwH? My generator guy is charging 0.65 USD per KwH for example. Is this within the benchmark aw 3am yo2rotne bel 3alan?
Apparently we can report them if they price more than the official rate but honestly is anyone gonna do anything if I theoretically file a report?

Hey guys, has anyone here had an epidural injection specifically for a herniated/bulging disc and sciatica?
Where did you get it done and which doctor did it? And did it actually help with the pain/leg symptoms? How long did the relief last?
Would really appreciate any personal experiences, good or bad. Thanks!

Last week I went to watch an Indian stand up comedian by the name of Sundeep Bhardwaj. For those who don't know he's mainly popular on Instagram for making fun of Zionists, has a bit of an audience in Lebanon and came to do a couple of shows here.
His stand up is pretty funny honestly, it's not like his instagram stuff he does talk about his life and makes jokes outside of Israel/Palestine, and I personally enjoyed it. However it's clear that he knows nothing about Lebanon and given it was his first time here, one would hope that it would be an opportunity for him to get to know the people here and maybe incorporate some of that knowledge into his future content. One would hope.
At the end of his set, he asked if anyone had any questions, and a woman and stood up and told him something to the effect of "you came all the way to Lebanon, you talked all about Palestine and didn't mention the south of Lebanon, we're dying as well etc.". I forget what his response was, something to the effect of he didn't know much about Lebanon, it was his first time here, etc., and she repeated the same thing, after a bit of back and forth she started crying and shouting at him, to the point that security had to get involved.
My message is for people who go to stand up comedy shows, especially by non-Lebanese people, with this expectation: with a few exceptions people who don't live here don't really know much about the country. All they know about Lebanon is what they hear in the media, and what they read in books and stuff like that. Even if they are anti-Zionist, at best they know about Hezbollah and the fact they fight against Israel, like that is the most they will know about Lebanon. When they say free Lebanon they're not saying it from a place of understanding of our country's people and politics, they just see Israel bombing someone and they feel(correctly) that that's wrong. If you expect more than that you're going to be disappointed. They're simply not knowledgeable enough to talk about it, let alone write jokes abo...

I think my memory is messing with me about this one nido milk commercial. There’s the one every Lebanese knows. But there’s this other one about a woman burying her daughter because she didn’t want her, then someone else digs up the baby, then the baby says “bideh nido haleebo”😭 I tried searching it up but nothing came up. I tried asking my mom about it too and she only remembers the popular one. Maybe I’m thinking of a different commercial and mixing up what it was for. Idk, hopefully someone here remembers this one and i’m not crazy

Hi, I’m new to Lebanon, and I’m planning to watch Verity with my sister. I heard it has a lot of explicit scenes. Do cinemas here censor movies, or do they show everything?
