A MASSIVE, HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO TWO PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS MOVE POSSIBLE:

THE AMAZING @𝔫𝔞𝔱𝔞𝔰𝔥𝔞 natasha stepped in and created a custom general-purpose bot for our self-assignable roles when we needed it most. we couldn't have done this without her talent and kindness. please go check her out: dead.lat

MY HEART IS WARM WITH GRATITUDE - WE APPRECIATE YOU BOTH SM!

to anyone else who wants to help us build the greatest gooning platform on Stoat: any and all help is welcome! we're looking for passionate builders to join the mission. DM me or @barata to get involved.

WHAT YOU 🫵 NEED TO KNOW
- WE ARE MOVING TO PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY. we refuse to comply with discord's upcoming age verification. IT IS NOT SAFE. we're starting a GOONING REVOLUTION on Stoat instead.
- THE FUTURE OF THE SERVER we'll keep things running here for now, but right before the rollout, this server will go into "ghost mode" (most channels will vanish, aside from a few read-only channels).
- JOIN NOW do not wait! i urge you to hop over to Stoat before the rollout hits.
- DAILY UPDATES we'll be posting reminders every day until then to make sure nobody gets left behind.

IMPORTANT HEADS UP: Stoat is in early development. it doesn't have all of discord's features yet, but they are working on it. so expect a simpler, slower experience while they build out the infrastructure. instead of comparing it to what we are leaving behind, let's focus on what we're building together. we'll grow alongside the platform! 🌱

thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has interacted and made this space what it is over the years. here's to a new era for the garden!

love fairy and the mod team xo

DON'T IGNORE THIS PING

i cannot stress this enough: the future of this server on discord is not looking good.
with the rollout of new age verification features, we've reached a crossroads. my moderation team and i value online anonymity and security above all else. because of this, we have all decided we will absolutely not be verifying.

we will try to see if we can get around verification somehow, but ultimately, on the eve of the march updates, the server will be put into a skeleton mode where all the channels will be privated except for a select few.

i have run this server since 2023, and i have made so many friends and memories along the way. discord has been wonderful and helped me embrace my hypersexuality and sex positive nature while giving my creativity a home i want to thank each and every one of you who have made this place an escape for me, and i hope it has offered the same sanctuary!

FOR NOW THE SERVER WILL RUN AS USUAL. BUT WE DON'T HAVE LONG.

recent rollouts of these features in the UK and Australia have already resulted in leaks, linking sensitive identification data directly to usernames. in a space like ours, where we celebrate our freakiness without judgment, the risk of having your real world identity linked to your NSFW activity is a risk we aren't willing to take.

PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY
i know data leaks feel common these days, but this is different. giving easy access to your sensitive data increases the risk of blackmail, scams, and real-world impacts on your offline life. we want to keep this a secret garden of delights, and Discord is making that impossible.

OUR NEW HOME: Stoat 🏠
we are working incredibly hard to make the move to Stoat a reality. we highly suggest once our Stoat server goes live, you join us there!

Stoat is dedicated to protecting spaces just like ours. it may not have all the Discord bells and whistles yet, but it's growing fast. they are currently run by volunteers and donations, with plans for their own nitro-style features soon.

this is our chance to build a GOON GARDEN 2.0 for the most dedicated, and devoted members of our community

🆘 A CALL FOR HELP!
we've spent 3 years curating this space and we aren't letting it go without a fight! however, we have hit some roadblocks.

if you have experience with coding or bots and you're passionate about saving this community, we need you! please reach out to me or @barata if you'd like to help us build the infrastructure for our new home 🫶 even if coding isn't your thing, if you have other passionate ideas or projects, we would love to host opportunities for you to show off and advertise your skills to our community!

STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES! we are working around the clock to get the new server live ASAP. let's keep our fringe of the internet safe, private, and fun <33

love, fairy xo

DON'T IGNORE THIS PING

very important update regarding the future of the goon garden

hi everyone, we have some serious stuff to talk about regarding the future of this community and discord as a platform.

in march, discord is rolling out a massive update that's going to change everything. they're moving all users to a default "teen mode," and you'll have to go through a verification process to access adult settings. "high risk" or 18+ nsfw servers like ours will become inaccessible without verification. they're claiming an ai will "guess" your age, but for nsfw spaces, they're still going to require verification. since a lot of you use throwaways or side accounts here, it's fair to assume those accounts won't have the history to pass an ai test anyway.

why this is dangerous

i am personally 100% against this verification. we've already seen data leaks from the rollouts in the UK and australia. this system is not guaranteed safe, and once your private data is out there, you can never take it back.

uploading your id or face scan creates a permanent link between your real-life identity and your activity in nsfw spaces. if discord or their third-party verification partners ever have a breach, your legal name, home address, and face could be leaked alongside your most private messages and interests. IT COULD AFFECT YOUR REAL LIFE. i've personally dealt with harassment and people trying to use my info against me before, and the thought of my real name or ID being linked to my account is really scary. just think, nsfw profiles with usernames like "sissyslut" or "gooner" attached to peoples real names and sensitive information. this is a massive privacy nightmare. i don't want anyone here to risk their safety. no set of features is worth your real-world identity being leaked or sold.

our plan: a new home

there's a real chance this server could die overnight once the update hits. because of that, we're working day and night to set up an alternative on a different platform. it's not set in stone yet, but we're committed to giving the goon community a place where we can be adults and have fun without a company over our shoulders.

discord has gone public and is looking at the stock market now; they're becoming greedier and they don't want communities like ours anymore. they aren't going to look out for us, so we have to look out for each other.

the alternative platform we choose might feel a bit different at first and might not have every single bell and whistle discord has right now, but it will grow. this is a chance to be part of something new from the ground up where privacy actually matters.

how you can help

if you have experience with discord alternatives like revolt/stoat, or if you just want to help us build this new home, please dm @barata or open a ticket in #🆘︱speak-to-a-mod

even if you are a mod from another server and aren't keen on verification and want a new project, we can welcome you! we will always have opportunities here to express your creativity and bring ideas and suggestions.

we love this space and this community. keep an eye out for updates soon. we're most likely moving home, and we want all of you there with us.

hi i hope you all had a good christmas if you celebrate, or any other holidays you've celebrated recently! <3

it's almost new year and this year has flown by so fast it all feels like a bit of a fog for me.

one thing that has been constant is the growth of this server, and that's been really cool and exciting! i was a bit lost mid-year on how to maintain that growth and handle the server, but we implemented a lot of changes this year that i think have kept things running much smoother. it's a tight ship now!

i want to welcome all the new members that have come in recently! i've also been seeing a lot of people who said they're lurkers come out of hiding too <3 so welcome to the community!!

i just want to highlight a few channels for everyone that i recommend checking out if you haven't explored much

i don't have too many ideas for our january theme yet, but i was thinking JAV January? what does everyone think of that? give a ⭐ react if you'd be excited for that idea and let's discuss it in main chat! i would love any suggestions too.

hope you all enjoyed december's events! they were my favourite i'll keep #🎄︱xxx-mas up until new year <3

happy holidays garden dwellers

i wanted to say thank you for such a sexy month! the #🎄︱xxx-mas and #🎪︱clussmas events have been my absolute favorites of the year! it's got me in the mood to blast christmas music and put on red lipstick plus seeing how you guys have handled the recent changes to the server and how well everyone is behaving has been the best gift! i've really loved seeing the garden flourish again a lot of you have definitely made it to the top of my naughty but nice list this year!

i hope you're all having an amazing time no matter what you're celebrating please make sure to take some time to get offline and be with your loved ones, whether it's family, friends, or your pets! (unless your loved ones are long distance! i know i'll be making a lot of overseas calls)

in saying that, i know the holidays can be hard. i'm far away from my own family right now and am wishing i could see them, so if you're feeling lonely, just know you aren't alone in that. be kind to yourself the best gifts are often the ones we give ourselves <3 i'm giving myself grace.

thanks for making my holidays so sexy! merry christmas!

also quick question that we can discuss in main chat because i'm curious...

what's your favorite holiday food? 🍽️
mine is definitely this curried rice salad one of my family members makes every christmas. i've missed it so much these past two years man i really need to learn how to make it myself. also christmas pudding with an ungodly amount of hot custard!!!! 🤤 that might be better than sex
