I think it's more popular since Tekken is hard at first and even harder later. Where SF6 like Guilty Gear Strive is easy at first but gets harder later on.

Do you feel like T7 just felt more TEKKEN?
I just found myself feeling T8 was Tekken Tag Tournament 3 without the Tag elements.
Something about it feels off like they tried to make Tekken and Tekken Tag the same game. Just stripping things.
For me personally, I like Tekken 8 better but probably more for the things around the fights like music, customization and visuals. I can see what you meant with it being kinda Tekken Tag though
