This discussion highlights the importance of meta-game preparation and strategic adjustments for competitive play.
I want to compete in the Recife Regional and wanted to know if my team would be viable in terms of matchups, synergy, etc...

It’s cool
Only one mega ?
Is there a problem with that?
you have the wrong mega
or move?
Raichu Y?
if you wanna use zap cannon that's Y
I thought it was the x.
if you want electric terrain rising voltage that's x
I missed the Mega-Sena.
Y has no guard that's why people use Zap cannon on it
since zap cannon is 50% accurate
wait why are you using defog is this singles

Are you using defog for zap cannon
Not really a problem but the meta shifted towards having two
Makes 1 team have to clear modes
(Bro resife is in reg m-c)
So is Brisbane
2 megas gives more flexibility and makes it harder for your opponents to prepare for you
https://klipy.com/gifs/cat-kung-fu-4
Got it.
1 minute
U playing Brisbane?
Maybe not sure
It’s all booked and I’m registered lol
Is why I’ve been training lol 😂
I thought u weren’t playing any regional
Gl my boy
Im playing Santiago and Buenos aires
Told you we should be training lol 😂
November man
Mines late September
Im not even registered
No resists for poison, rock and dragon (grimmsnarl don't really count when the only damaging move is fake out) is gonna make playing into M-Aero, garchomp, sneasler, venusaur, M-gengar really difficult. And those are some of the most used mons in the format
When m-c come out we will be practice for the regionals ok?
Also no way to hit electric, poison, dragon, or fairy for super effective damage
Kk
Howl on Arcanine is kinda wasted when grimm has no attacking moves, samurott outspeeds and gets the buff after attacking, and talonflame has gale wings and outspeeds
🗝️|roles add the teambuilding roll ur pretty good at teambuilding
Would use matcha gotcha over life dew, and spirit break over one of the screens
I had it on, but it was a bit more pings then I was looking for and quite frankly, I only been into competitive for about a year and have yet to leave M4. Thank you so much for the compliment though. I am glad folks here have liked my teams
So, you're a prodigal, then.
Also, sini doesn't make a lot of sense to include here besides finishing fire-water-grass core. Your team is very frail and wont make good use of what sini offers. If you are looking to prevent trick rooms, use a farigiraf with imprison and TR or roar. Both avoid the ever so uncommon mental herb, one requires two move slots and leave the opponent useless on the field, forcing a switch next turn; the other is only one move slot but gives the opponent a free switch in
What could I do to improve the team?
You can also do prankster taunt, cause the only dark type tr setters are meow (no), spirittomb (double no), and Malamar (maybe)
so I would change sinistcha to enter giraf
replace sini with whims or farig, but if you pick whims you should probs replace talonflame
Wow, I hadn't thought of that.
Im dipping out but best of luck with the team.
I started two months ago.
Thanks
I wanted to play the regional tournament with this team, and if I made certain changes to the moves, would this Pokémon be a viable team?
Last thing, you desperately want a steel type, preferably with a ground move to fix the type chart issues i said at the start. M-Metagross would fit well on your team , just have to be careful with opposing charizards
Thanks jules

You're really good; I hope to be just like you one day.
I'm still learning lol
Okay, actually the last last thing. Because your main attackers cant hold focus sash (m-rai and samurott), you are gonna want redirection or falke out support. Not a lot of good redirection options besides sini (i am fond of clefairy myself ngl) but there are a myriad of fake out users you might consider as well.
I could put Clefable in place of Grim.
?
Grimm is fine, but it is best on teams that have some bulk already
honestly the mon i would most want to remove is arcanine. it just isnt a very good mon in the meta right now.
Make one change at a time, see how it feels and adjust
I couldn't get it out.
Ok
I'd start with switching Arc for M-Meta and see how it feels then. Cause metagross will give you a lot of value out of your sini and grimm
I'm going to make the change to the claim.
I grabbed it again, cause why not lol\
The team is doing well, but I'm still having trouble with matchups

I'm thinking of putting Metagross in Talon's spot and Whim in Giraf's spot.
Do u need tw?
If u don’t change talon for metagross or yard
?
I didn't get it, man.
TailWind
So if I trade the talon, I'll swap the guraf for whim.
No no no
Change him with a mega
Like yard or metagross
But who could I swap out to bring one of those in?
But who could I swap out to bring one of those in?
Talonflame
What is Arcanine doing
Actually
What is anything doing
What's the point
He was the core of the team.
I'm not taking him down, and I want to beat the regional competition, but I also want to have fun.
Arcanine is gonna be a huge weight on the team. If you think you can't have fun without it, then use it. But be prepared to be disappointed in how he has faired in the power creep.
Like, if you swap Meta for arcanine, I think this team probably runs just fine
Isn't there a way to make Arcanine work?
I really want to use it.
I really want to use it
The problem is really the meta around it more than Arcanine itself. Fire is a pretty good defensive typing, unfortunately the best mon in the meta since champions released is charizard. Every team is packing multiple ways to hit fire, and to hit faster then 101 speed (6 base above arcanine). He has pretty good bulk, but its nothing to write home about.
To use him offensively, you get outsped and OHKO'd or 2HKO'd by mons like M-Blaziken, Mega D-Nite, Staraptor, Glimmora, Gchomp, Delphox, Pyroar, Lycanroc, Raichu, Gengar, Aero, and Sneasler. Also, on the offensive side, its completely outclassed by Arcanine Hisui.
To use him supportively or as a defensive pivot, you lose out the opportunity cost of just using a better support. Will-o-wisp is a lot less valuable when you cant get it off until after a target attacks, snarl is less useful in a meta dominated by physical threats, Howl has the same issue as will-o-wisp.
It just doesn't really offer anything unique. A jack of all trades, master of none. You can use him, sure, but its a handicap and he probably isn't coming to many sets.
Got it
So there's no way to use it in this meta
He was the only Pokémon that interested me for building the team
Not no way, just doesn't have a niche that is all that useful right now. He can be on the team, but you are gonna use him for a vast minority of games
So I can use it in tournaments and try to become a champion with it, even if it isn't all that useful?
So I can use it in tournaments and try to become a champion with it, even if it isn't all that useful?
For me, just having him on the team is enough.
Is your goal to win the tournament you are entering? Or is it to have fun and enjoy the experience
I think, the best use case for Arcanine rn is as a defensive pivot into fire attacks with flash fire, choice scarf, and flare blitz.
Maybe a maushold/whims beatup into Justified Arcanine could work, but that keeps it from using focus sash and there are just so many threats that can reliably OHKO or that the beat up damage threatens to put over the edge into a knock out.
I want to be a champion, but I also want to have fun.
But what if I run a Maushold pivot with Annihilape?
Is losing with Arcanine worth it (in fun/experience) than winning with something else? Thats up to you. You can win with it, but its just not capable of being the star of the show.
🤷♀️
Unfortunately, you are right😔
If I want to be a champion, I have to have something viable.
Look, im using Mega Zard X rn, unconventional is fine. It just has to have a purpose
And what if I swap Arc for M-Metagross—would my team be more consistent?
I thought about ''Jules'' words and made a team more around the meta, I think.
I thought about Jules' words and made a team more around the ''meta'', I think.
I ended up reaching Master Rank with this without even knowing if it was actually good, lol.
Hey everyone, I wanted to build a team that was a bit more meta-oriented—I was thinking about what Jules said, so I went for it. I know Garchomp is a bit of a wild pick, but I really wanted to use its Mega form.
and I wanted to use this team to play in the tournament happening at 22:00

7/10
Not the best, not the worst
What could make it a 10?
Wait this a cook 🧑🍳
Thanks
5/10
Good but blaziken is not really suitable for the new mons
why chople when u can run sitrus??''
also baliziken is shit
https://klipy.com/gifs/jurassic-park-shades-off-1
I assembled the team around him because he has a lot of aura.
The make a protect the shit
I mean protect the king

And that was the most acceptable version I managed to come up with, I think.
Relax, man, no need to get angry—just calm down a bit
?
Sorry about that.

That was the first version, if you want to see it
The team I want to use in GC, is it any good?
Hey guys, so I'm going to participate in this IC in São Paulo; I put a team together and wanted to know if it's good enough to compete
help me, plis
Hey guys, I wanted to know if you think my team is solid enough for the São Paulo Laic. I tried to manage speed and added Will-O-Wisp as support to reduce damage, helping Arcanine and Starmie perform better. I built Volcarona for support with redirection and Tailwind, Sneasler to handle Zard, Floette, etc., and Indeedee-F to set the terrain.

help me, please
Ayyyy, I’m going too
You might want a Colbert on that indeede
Rock Helm is pretty good for breaking op Arch’s who have Sash’s
But sash is also on stuff like Peli/Whim
Who are sp Atks
Colbert Berry means you can Follow me a KKleave from gambit and still bulk more dmg
Allows another follow me or Helpping hand
its weird seeing psychic seed volcarona, usually its grassy seed quiver dance
you tell me how its working for you
about Dragapult you usually want the Life-Orb to secure OHKOes on Pokémon like Bascu or Gholdengo
Infiltrator is okayish, but Clear Body makes you immune to parting shot, icy wind, rock tombs etc
Clear Body basicially allows you to play more offensive or allowing small mistakes.
I'm not so sure about the usage of screens on Salamance or Gholdengo Teams, since this is where you want to bring Dragapult for sure
Ok
But otherwise, did the team manage to really click?
Ok

10/10 Next winner at THE regionals
Really?
After all, it's the Perish archetype that was used in the last two regionals, but without Archaludon
To be honest, an Archaludon with a Sturdy + Choice Scarf would be a better option than a Goliisopod
If you're good at playing Perish, the team looks pretty good
Thanks Bruno
I am learning
Remember that we're on a closed list and things like this take many players by surprise. Archaludon Choice Scarf + Meteor Draco is a one-shot on Chompz
And in several other things, let me see if you can get the kill on Sneasler
I can do it with Vivillon's Hurricane.
I've seen something like this in some perish teams on the ladder

I'll test it..
Just be careful with trickrom teams they could cause problems on the lead
Ok
Thanks Bruno
Sure, I think many people here play Perish maybe they can help you with the IV distribution
Are my distributed EVs bad?
Honestly, I'm not really sure I haven't played many times perish
That's why it would be great if someone who plays it could take a look at your IVs
Ok,Thanks anyway.
it went badly
I hadn't seen it
Thanks
Rate my team(Maybe I'll test it on GC)

The Wigglytuff build is wrong; it should be: Perish Song Moonblast Protect Disable
Competitive is just better jf u even wanna use fraudtuff
Screamtail exist
What? This is the Champions
I preferred choice because I don't have rain
I get fast too
they said give it a paradox
I just said the paradox
Oh
I read it wrong
Ok
Hi guys, i was thinking about a Perish team, and I came up with one that looks good to play

I wanted to use Scrafty, and Erick Hills had already built a Perish team that I also wanted to use, so I brought it along—both because I wanted to use it and to make my matchups against Gholdengo
