Summary
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments community is actively theorycrafting a new Trick Room team centered around Scizor. This discussion explores the viability of Golurk as a sun-matchup counter and debates the optimal Rotom forms for a balanced fire-water-grass core. Members are analyzing team synergy and potential future replacements to ensure the squad remains competitive in the current VGC season.
Hello guys as its a new season I wanted to try another mega in trick room, the team is as the picture says with scizor at the center and i new i wanted and had to onlcude Rotom, Sneasler and Mimikyu and settled on this for now and trying to make it as viable as possible. The biggest problem is I guess the sun so i asked Banjoand he said that I can try Golurk as the answer if I wanna go trickroom and I really like the idea. This is the start and I know it can get much better than this but I know hat the core 4 will not change except the Rotom form as all of the mons have their purpose and are connsistent

not sure how viable mega golurk is gonna be, but in my few encounters with him, he has been been severely underwhelming. dying without being able to do anything
It feels like my second mega that ill bring into the sun matchup to just go and do its bussines
mega golurk suffers the same fate as drill and it's because they practically don't have abilities
you can try him but you definitely need trick room for him to be useful coz he is so slow, he has good defences but pretty bad hp as well
Is there a reason you chose heat over wash? I don't see an outright weakness to grass here
or steel
Wanted trickroom anyway for both it and scizor
The only reason is that in the future Golisopod will come in instead of scizor so just wanted fire water grass core with meow and it
And if we change meow and Golurk the for of Rotom can change
Alright while that is fair and correct but I would definitely plan on now over later. Tbh we don't even know if golisopod is coming in M-C plus its abilities have not made it viable so far so I am not hopeful that will change
Yea but scizor functions the same so yea wanted to try it anyway
Scizor is not really good in trick room
it's too fast
mega made it faster
Scizor isn't a problem in trick room if you are - speed. It is in a fine tier for it
Plus it outspeeds TR teams outside of it
It definitely isn't the most viable though
really gotta make sure you have a gambit answer
Counted on Sneasler and heat to deal with it
Incin becomes a huge issue for TR also
you can't underspeed it
and it one shots with flare blitz
If the 4 of the Scizor Rotom Sneasler and Mimikyu are the core and not changeable
Which mega and one more support the the most viable
Personally I would swap for wash or mow, add torkoal and maybe something like drampa
it could shut down rain teams if you chose torkoal, gets helping hand or can be megad to give torkoal sun back
But wouldn't it adding a torkoal be counter intuitive?
Was thinking about rain more
As it cuts the fire damage in half
yeah that is kind of why I was thinking drampa for cloud nine in case you need rain to shut off
and don't have a good switch
because with torkoal, you don't necessarily have to mega it, it is just more frail
or if no rain is present, it is around to really do some damage
as a mega
Would mAmpharos work the same as it's slow and can deal with zard y and is relatively good into rain
Amph could work probably yeah
What would be good support to add next to it
Would more support oriented Incineroar be good?
And than I go Rotom Mow
And with that I have the answer into everything
That may be an option but idk how it will hold up without really testing it
Having incin on TR is definitely nice though
Then it fixes the Rain and Sun match-up
Run headlong like please
