First, can you tell me what role you feel the pokemon you selected play in your team?

Reply

How do you normally use them

Reply

I ordered the images differently this time so.

Let's talk about the team I actually built the first image.

I wanted Charizard so I could set sun easily through mega so Venusaur could use Chlorophyll to outspeed and demolish rain teams, but also cover with earthquake for especially sneasler and also consistent AOE damage, Rotom Wash is immune to it so imo a good pick to pair with that layout.

But tbh now that I look at it maybe it's too unbalanced on the damage aspect and thunder wave is not much of a reliable speed control, Sneasler is there to beat down the common rain and Sandstorm teams I run into, Incineroar is there for support and reduce damage taken since most of my mons are quite frail, Mimikyu is there to deal with dragon types(Mainly dragapult).

Tbh I don't think it's a good idea to why I picked these Pokemon but I think it's quite solid sometimes, I don't know if I like using double megas though since Chlorophyll does run out when Venusaur is mega evolved...

Was mostly winged

Reply

And the second one? The person just told me it was a good team and I ran with it

Reply

Sorry if my explanation is bums btw I got stressed over irl for a moment

Reply

Nah all good

Reply

Let's take a look at incineroar

Reply

Do you know what he is used for?

Reply

He is support. He applies immense pressure and pivot

Reply

He is not there for damage

Reply

Fake out, parting shot, throat chop, protect

Reply

Yeah that's what I use him for, didn't account for thoat chop being a better move though especially since most mons seldom use voice moves at least from what I've encountered, I thought Darkest Lariat's second ability would've been better

Reply

Use that moveset Ijsted

Reply

What about the other mons?

Reply

Many of them shouldn't be on a sun team

Reply

What can I add/fix to make a more viable sun team then or ditch the whole sun team idea and build around the stronger majority...?

Reply

Sun team is so popular because it's easy to use

Reply

That's why you see it everywhere

Reply

What is your favorite mega

Reply

Mega Delphox

Reply

Then we build Round Benimaru Shinmon

Reply

Who??

Reply

Idk who Benimaru is

Reply

What does this mean

Reply

Never seen fire force?

Reply

No

Reply

Cool animation

Reply

Mega Delphox might as well be based off of him

Reply

Thing is if I add mega Delphox I gotta sacrifice Charizard because 3 fire types is a bit much

Reply

And I need a regular way to set up the sun

Reply

If I'm still building around sun

Reply

I want to keep Rotom Wash

Reply

But I am not sure what else should be in to set the sun that can keep up long enough alongside Delphox without repeating the same type

Reply

Oh we are going to build you a team for mega Delphox specifically

Reply

How?

Reply

I will help you

Reply

Nemona ahh-

Reply

LMAO

Reply

Sure I'd battle

Reply

I mean tbh I want to keep rotom wash because it has consistent results

Reply

You won't need it. Trust.

Reply

Dude just gimme a sec-

Reply

But it's rlly cool...

Reply

😔

Reply

Fine

Reply

?

Reply

Doubles

Reply

So Delphox

Reply

High SpATK Levitate avoids ground moves with mega

Reply

Maybe I could use its levitate ability to allow another mon to hit the ground harder than a breakdancer too...??

Reply

A ground type

Reply

Delphox, incin, floette, kingambit, garchomp, sneasler

Reply

I'm going to have to do the 15 ZA Royale battles

Reply

😔

Reply

I kinda wanted to come up with smth on my own though could you explain why the picks

Reply

Sure

Reply

I'm off work in about ten minites

Reply

Is there a way to do this without Floette?

Reply

You can sure

Reply

When replacing mons you can define what that Mon does and find another that fits the same role

Reply

In this case it's a backup mega

Reply

I never used Floette and KOed several survive their weird light attack to me it feels like a very offensive sweeper but

Reply

You don't NEED one

Reply

Idk what it actually does

Reply

We would be using protect draining kiss dazzling gleam and calm mind

Reply

But by removing it we can add a support Mon like sinistcha

Reply

Doesn't it lack a bit of speed control? Kingambit easily falls to Sneasler if I don't protect and I'd particularly want a quick offense to respond to it incase starting with Delphox is sub-optimal

Reply

Sucker Punch also doesn't KO Sneasler

Reply

The team I recommended to yoh

Reply

Was created by a doubles vgc world champion lol

Reply

Well hey if it worked

Reply

The concerns you have, are why floette is on the team

Reply

It deals with the threats Delphox doesn't like

Reply

Improve Your Pokémon Teams: Charizard to Incineroar

Reply

I don't like Floette though

Reply

Nothing wrong with that

Reply

So you define what those threats are and choose another mega you do like that serves the same purpose

Reply

Most Pokemon can be interchanged

Reply

And still serve the same team purpose and core

Reply

most

Reply

Dude this feels like you're speeding too fast

Reply

What I have given you is the concept for a team based around your favorite mega above all you should enjoy VGC and play with who you want build around who you want that being said you are not stuck to that exact team if you understand what the pokémon is supposed to do in your team you can change them out for other ones you like more that do the same thing

Reply

Does that make sense? I gave you a way to make Delphox viable now we focus on making Delphox fun for you

Reply

Why does everyone have shadow claw on their mimikyuus

Reply

Most ones come with it in recruitment

Reply

Thats fair I suppose but swords dance + drain punch basically counters steel types

Reply

Correct. Try to remember that since champions is free we are currently having our biggest influx of fresh players experiencing competitive play for the first time lol they don't know what is best

Reply

I think I've mentioned to put protect on almost every Mon like 40 times today alone

Reply

Thats fair
