I mentioned this before but he's my favorite mon but all attempts I've made to make him work have ended in pretty disappointing results. I really wanna make him work and id like any tips on what could assist him. This is the current team and I dont really like it tbh so I'd greatly appreciate any assistance.

you probably want a different mega because base gar would hit harder and out speeds charizard, and you don't have sand so his ability is useless, rough skin is better
Who's the best mega for volcarona then?
set up offensive volcarona isn't that good especially with rockslide everywhere
it's pretty diffucult to get online
maybe mega aerodactyl for wide guard, counter rock slide, tailwind
Do mega aeros usually set up tailwind?
yeah
Also giga drain would probably be more useful than bug buzz
Yeah that one's fair
So would the set for an aerodactyl on this team be somethkng like rock slide, tailwind, wide guard, protect or is it dropping the protect for like dual wingbeat?
Imo, volcarona is not suitable in this meta, coz volc is special wall and the current meta is dominated with physical mons.
Dual wingbeat, rock slide, tailwind, wide guard
Yeah ik hes not good but I already got the master ball and at this point I just wanna mess around until the rank reset and no better way to do that than try to make my favorite guy function
32 hp 32 def with bold nature 🤔
Then use charti berry
Have you tried it? It should survive rock slide from m aero and m ttar
Then use quiver dance and giga drain 🤔
That was the first attempt yeah it works fine against those guys but then I found volcarona lost on the spot to rain instead which I find even more prevalent.
Giga drain would help the match-up at least but I gotta run the calcs to see what volcarona does to the rain team with no sp atk investment
Need to setup 1 or 2 quiver dance to deal dmg hehehe
Thats the hope but finding those turns is really hard right now. Screen support has helped out for that but even with it I dont think I can reasonably expect to set up more than 1 in a game
With all the things to look out for, trying to make a core that can cover for all of the things that can counter volcarona is almost certainly a fool's errand
I figured i should go for a really bulky core to surround volcarona so I can chip away at the enemy and he can come in to clean up after getting rid of the rock sliders though mega aero might be the thing that could help. Milotic by herself really wasnt enough speed control
Someone had mentioned mamoswine to me as well. Maybe I could run them as a scarfer
Weavile? 🤔
It have triple axel to deal with sash aero 🤔
Do you need to hit all 3 for the ohko
Unfortunately yes. 2 will deal 97-107% if aero don't have def/hp investment
Thats a shame but maybe the inconsistency is gonna be necessary to have the team work anyway
Ooh I can help
Used volcorona for most of reg ma and almost all of reg I
Kept switching between it, amoongus and ogerpon rock
Can say that it is usable but rly difficult given rock and water spam rn
But from my experience it is rly nice with wide gaurd mons or megas with tr
Tr mons can make your opponent forcably have to choose wether to target volc or the tr mon, if they guess wrong you get the other speed control up and wide gaurd is obv

This was my last successful usage of it, had to stop using it cuz it struggled against the new glimmora teams at the time but maybe you can do something with it (and put a secondary mega perhaps)
But I got to like top 500 in showdown with it bfore glimmora became popular
(In ma ofc this is prob more difficult now in m-b)
Sure, Ill give your team a try tyty
Is that a fully defensive volcarona? What's it good at rage powdering?
Oh uh, it was originally made to survive garchomp rockslides
Obv kinda useless now so you can train it to be more offensive
Aight yeah, I kinda figured, still its a lot different from all the other volcarona teams Ive seen and tried. Seems more than worth giving a shot to
Im using this guys ass a support Mon
Is it a similar set from the one sent earlier in the thread with rage powder, tailwind etc
