Understanding Beta Pear Transaction Fees & Deposits

Summary

This discussion on the Pear server addresses community questions regarding transaction fees and deposit workflows on the Beta Pear platform. Users clarify that depositing USDC on the Polygon network triggers an automatic conversion to pUSD for trading. The conversation highlights the importance of transparency in fee notifications and provides guidance for traders navigating the current beta interface.

how much is the transaction fee for Beta Pear?
Perhaps it could be included in the notifications so we can be aware of the fee charged for each transaction. Thank you

Is it true it's zero fee? Have you ever made a transaction at Beta Pear?

I thought the issue with the balance not showing up had been resolved, since many traders have already been making transactions.

I thought it was about the number of shares being different for each route, not about the fee.

No, man. I’m not talking about the balance display itself. The balance is in the wrong place; I deposited funds on the Polygon network, whereas they should have been automatically converted to pUSD on Polymarket first. That’s why the balance shows as zero. The team is working on it.

@applegarden-57 I thought it was about the number of shares being different for each route, not about the fee.
ironsummit-42

You're right that different bet sizes can change the number of shares received. However, I think there is also a separate commission/fee charged by Polymarket, not just a difference in shares.

However, I haven't managed to test the pear yet to see how it works. You could probably test it.

I also deposited on the Polygon network, and it automatically converted to Polymarket's pUSD. I thought that wouldn't be an issue from the start.

That's exactly why I said the fee doesn't show up, only the number of shares and the nominal amount. I was asking about the fee being left out of the transaction notification.

applegarden-57 OP

Yeah, I already put in some bets, you can check the beta trade leaderboard.
Depositing USDC on Polygon automatically converts it to pUSD on Polymarket.
