Summary
The Symbols for Object Lessons server explores the controversial question of whether dancing is acceptable to God. This study examines biblical passages, including the accounts of King David, the daughter of Herodias, and the golden calf, to determine if dancing is associated with wickedness. Members are invited to analyze these scriptures to better understand obedient behavior and the spiritual consequences of dancing as depicted in the Word.
I got a question regarding this, and it was a blessed one.
We will look into a few passages where dancing was involved - and even look into the obedient form of dancing that was recently revealed unto me.

2 Samuel 6:14 - Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
<14> And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
king David did not have the whole truth at the time that he did this. In every other instance, dancing was a fruit of wickedness.
If you read on, David's actions had done this upon Michal:
2nd Samuel 6:16,20 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
This caused Michal to hate David in her heart so much that it formed a grudge. The LORD took note of it - because the LORD protected David from his enemies.
2nd Samuel 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
So, if dancing caused David to gain enemies... what else does it do? Let us read into other witnesses.
Matthew 14:6-8 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
Exodus 32:19 And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.
In these instances, it is made apparent that dancing is done only because the whole armour of God is not being employed in the life of a Christian.
Because of this: dancing does not please the LORD, but instead creates enemies and hardens hearts even further - just because David did it before the LORD does not mean that the LORD is pleased.
In these witnesses, dancing becomes a symbol of Victory over sin and the devil.
BUT - it still arouses the hatred of Satan and the ignominy reproach of the jealous.
Luke 15:24-28 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
Psalms 30:10-12 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
Jeremiah 31:13-14 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

According to the Strong's Concordance, a lawful dance is rejoicing in a circle of likeminded brethren - which can be done in the Spirit through Voice Calls, or can be done in person with each person grasping another one's shoulders.
This is because the shoulder represents the burden of God's people.
Dancing would then be rejoicing that these burdens have been solved by God and the solution is made manifest before the eyes of all men and angels.
Genesis 49:15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
Psalms 81:6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.
Luke 15:4-5 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Other lawful examples of dancing would be jumping up and down.
Cats actually bob their body up-and-down as they are walking with extreme joy, and their bodies wave like gentle ocean waters.
Psalms 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
1st Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

2 Samuel 6:16
Isn't this her own chose to hate on David?
Good question, I'll answer it, but first a word of advice.
It is best not to hyper focus on the ungodly. Michal is actually one of David's wives that then committed adultery against David with Phalti.
1st Samuel 25:44 But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim.
Because Michal embraced adultery as part of her lifestyle and saw it as no big deal, this caused Satan to perfectly control her in the same exact manner that he controlled Herod later on.
"Herod was affected as he listened to the pointed testimony of John, and, with deep interest, he inquired what he must do to become his disciple. He was convicted by the plain truths uttered by John. His conscience condemned him, for a woman of vile passions had gained his affections and controlled his mind. This unprincipled woman was ambitious for power and authority, and thought if she became the wife of Herod her object would be gained. As Herod listened to the practical truths proclaimed by John, reproving the transgression of the law of God, and setting forth the future punishment which the guilty must suffer, he trembled, and greatly desired to break the chain of lust which held him. He opened his mind to John, who brought Herod to the law of God, face to face, and told him it would be impossible for him to have part in the kingdom of the Messiah unless he should break away from the unlawful connections with his brother’s wife, and, with his whole heart, obey the commandments of God.
Herod was inclined to act upon the advice of John, and stated to Herodias that he could not marry her in defiance of the law of God. But this determined woman would not be thwarted in her designs. Intense hatred was awakened in her heart toward John. Herod was weak in principle, vacillating in mind, and Herodias had no great difficulty in re-establishing herself in his favor, and holding her influence over him. Herod yielded to the pleasures of sin, rather than submit to the restrictions of the law of God." [Spirit of Prophecy; Volume 2; [pag.par] 69.2-70.1; Chapter 4—The Mission of Christ]
And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.
To faithfully answer your question with these witnesses before us, Michal's hatred was a result of embracing sin - that David's joy in dancing then revealed the unrighteousness that was in Michal.
Instead of choosing Christ by recognizing the error of her own way through repenting, Michal hardened her heart against the LORD in the exact like-manner of Herod.
Proverbs 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
1st Corinthians 5:7-8 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Remember also the consequence of the Law of Jealousy
So that heated comes from a hardened heart and not from the dance itself?
Well... according to the Scriptures:
- Michal's hatred started with her hardened heart
- that same hatred was then manifested after David danced publically
This is kind-of milky stuff, things that can be made manifested easily if you first studied this before responding.
Also, attaining unto the Early Rain can help you tremendously in these things as well.
Oh, , if you can do a study on this and post it in #📑individual-studies, that could also open up the subject even further.
Ok. I will open a separate study on how dancing helps us in our daily life.
