Did i get robbed?

i just bought my first ever car from a car dealer. he told me if i pay i can take the car on the same day. I think i just got too excited and accepted it. i payed an additional 1000$ fee for the car registration as i agreed with him. He gave me the car with a yellow plate under his name. 2 working days later hes asking me to do all the paperwork for the car. did i get robbed? wasnt it supposed to be his job since im paying him 1k extra?
