Addressing Online Hate Against Maronites

Summary

On r/Lebanon the community discusses a surge of normalized online hostility toward Maronites and Lebanese Christians, often from Arabs living in the West. The announcement cites attacks on names, use of French, dress, and even celebrating Christmas as examples. This matters because it affects identity, community cohesion, and online safety for Lebanese Christians.

Can we talk about how normalized it has become on social media to hate on Maronites and Lebanese Christians in general? Specifically from Arabs living in the West?

I'm not talking about the typical comment section bots or the Twitter and Facebook boomer hate, I'm talking about a surge of full on "educated" people (mostly Arabs living in the West, including Lebanese) trashing and ridiculing Maronites and other Lebanese Christians on the internet as if it's totally normal thing because we "deserve it".

The hate goes beyond political opinions, everything we do seems to trigger them, the way we have Western names, the fact that we use French words in our everyday communication, the way we dress, I even saw takes about how we adopted western culture just because we put up Christmas trees on Christmas😭
