Both commit violent acts
However
D4VD situation is crazier
Whats yall take on this
Most of the controversy around the OJ stuff was about the trial itself and the sort of divide between communities on whether or not he was guilty. D4VD stuff is pretty fucking cut and dry, so despite it being worse, it's not going to get as much attention just due to the fact that it isn't controversial.
OJ situation
Yeah racial inequality was a big role back in the day
As for D4VD
Like
There really is a lot to say abt this
Its beyond fucked up than any other case I’ve ever seen in years
But there isn't much room for conversation beyond how fucked up it is. The best way I can put it is that it doesn't have as much cultural staying power as other cases that are rooted in deeper issues.
Even so its like
People are just psychologically insane which makes me question humanity even more by the minute and by the hour
Regardless of how cultural the cases is or what
Its still rather disturbing to the audience realizing what they done is heinous and fucking insane
Chris watts Situation is even wild af too if you do remember that shit
As insane as what they've done is, there have been plenty of them throughout history. Evil isn't all that novel, which is depressing. I do remember the Watts case, and I think that was as unimaginable as it gets, especially from the perspective of fathers.
Yeah bad things is everywhere every single day
Im so invested into Crime Videos on YT its interesting stuff cant lie
But the new Lindsey Clancey case sort of highlights how important it is for a case to have an underlying issue behind it. The issue with that trial is more about a tension between men and women that has been brewing for a long time now. It's similar in gravity to the Watts case, but it's the divide between the perspectives on the crime that will make this case timeless.
Same lol. I have a tendency to get lost in a rabbit hole of those police body came videos.
The Casey Situation oh my goodness
The fact she got away with it if u know what im talking abt
She did, in some ways, her lasting injuries from her suicide attempt more or less saved her here. I highly doubt there would be as much sympathy for her if she wasn't paralyzed. Still strikes me how brutal the murders were; strangulation seems like such a visceral thing for someone with no previous history of violence.
I think the rise of mental health awareness had a good deal of an impact on how this case was viewed as well. I think, on average, women put a lot more weight on mental health issues, and men not as much. And since the defense used mental health as the core of their defense, it only made it more divisive. We're coming to a crossroads where the extremely quick shift in the way we treat mental health is starting to get checked in both good and bad ways. What's concerning now is how the law is likely to change in response to that.
