Hey guys! Here's a quick recap on this week's product update:
Growing Your Community and Nailing SEO
When it comes to ranking high on Google and in our server listings, we believe it’s all about serving your users well and showcasing your domain expertise. We help you do this by interlinking related topics & articles so Google knows exactly what subjects your community is an authority on. Also, if your server has over 100 members, you can apply for verification! We'll do a manual safety check, and once approved, you’ll get a nice little ranking boost on our front page.
Keeping Things Secure with User Gating
Nobody likes spammers or scammers, so we’ve introduced a new server gating feature to keep them out. It asks interested users to log in with their Discord account, and then our system gives them a score based on their ban logs. If someone scores too low, we block them from seeing the server listing altogether. Yes, this adds a tiny bit of friction and might lower your overall traffic, but it absolutely guarantees you are getting higher-quality members. As a quick tip, we highly recommend using auto-mod to kick accounts that are less than a day old—our data shows that about 30% of spam accounts fall into that bucket!
Spark AI is Getting Even Better
We have some massive updates rolling out for our Spark AI bot. Soon, you’ll be able to embed it right onto your own external website using a simple code snippet. We’re also launching a "content gap analytics" tool to help you spot the common questions your community is asking that don't currently have answers in your knowledge base. Plus, our premium users will be able to choose specific AI models that match their community's vibe—whether you need a strict, support-focused tone or a casual, conversational one.
Communityone Analytics vs Statbot
We built Communityone's analytics to stand out from tools like StatBot by focusing heavily on human interaction and dead-accurate data. For example, we completely strip bot messages out of your activity counts so you get a clear picture of real engagement. Since Discord’s audit logs usually only catch about 30% of departing members, our platform actually manually counts leavers to give you precise, trustworthy growth data. If you're looking at your monetization potential, keep an eye on your "messages per member" to spot your superfans, and "words per message" to really understand your audience's demographic.
Ads, Emojis, and Making Money
Right now, we're testing an experimental ad feature where you can grab a front-page spot for just 15 a week—which usually brings your acquisition cost down to around 10 cents per user! While our main focus today is helping you grow with high-quality engagement, we’re planning to roll out member subscription options in Q4 so you can start directly monetizing. Finally, don't sleep on emojis as a growth tool! We use AI to classify them to give your server better search visibility. Just keep in mind that if you disable emoji downloads, your server won't show up on our aggregate discovery pages.
