i'm considering opening the server back up to disboard bumps next week. since we've had a lot of new people come in lately and the server's been settling, i wanna ask anyone who's been around for a bit to consider leaving us an honest review on Disboard. it DOESNT HAVE to be 5 stars; i prefer you leave whatever rating you genuinely feel like we're sitting at whether that's 0, 3 stars, 5 stars, whatever. all i ask is that it's honest and constructive.

your reviews are gonna help new people get a better idea of what the server is actually like before joining. that, and honest criticism generally just helps us see what we can improve

quick note for #looking-for-rp

staff had a few people bring up that some rp styles in the server arent always meshing that good together. thats pretty normal in a server with a pretty loose style of rp and a bunch of different writers, but we also recognize that this also kinda leads to scenes dying out or people feeling awkward, or someone feeling like they dont have enough to respond to

so moving forward, when you make your RP ping in #looking-for-rp please try to mention what kind of scene and rp style youre hoping for.

you can keep it simple by explaining that you prefer semi/para or para writers, or maybe that you prefer short replies, or that you want slow scenes with lots of detail, etc...

Best thing to do in this case is to work together as a community to help people find rp partners they naturally work better with. main thing: be clear, be respectful, try to give your rp partner(s) something they can respond to based on the kind of scene you both agreed to.

@Verified Member, good evening, quick reminder for everyone before I get us to our game night.

please make sure youre keeping the server rules in mind. especially when it comes to making jokes and making edgy comments, political/social topics and generally just saying shit that can make other people uncomfortable. the rules channel already lists what isnt allowed and all of you had to scroll through it in order to get access to the server. with how much it's been happening, staff is gonna be a lot more firm about this kind of stuff

now, this does NOT mean yall need to walk on eggshells, it does NOT mean you need to be serious, nor do you need to sanitize the stuff you say. i love seeing yall being weird and having fun and feeling comfortable being yourselves and that is not the problem. i promise you that this is actually what makes the server feel more alive and at home for anyone else who might join,

however there does absolutely need to be social awareness. jokes should NEVER come at someone elses expense, and the chats shouldnt turn into a place that people avoid because they're uncomfy.

so my request to yall is to just think a bit before you send something. if its targeting a group of people or making someone the butt of a joke, or if you're getting into divisive real-world stuff for no reason, or relying entirely on shock value, it probably doesnt need to be said here.

i made this server with the intention of being very different from the rest of the star wars community (which is a toxic cesspool), and the only way we can all do this is by keeping this place comfortable for a wide range of people

so in case you havent noticed, we've had a huge wave of new people join lately! so first off, welcome in to everyone who landed here! glad to have you guys around and i hope the server's been comfortable to settle into so far. as always, don't be afraid to ask for help if you need clarification on anything we do. we've also got #faq and #⭐rp-etiquette if you want to have an understanding of how we go about basics.

so, cuz of how many new peeps we got over the past few days, we're gonna pause Disboard bumping for a bit. this isn't a bad thing cuz to be honest server's been growing VERY fast; i'd like the staff, helpers, and DMs to have enough time to help the people who are already here with character creation, approvals, lore questions, missions, and getting into RP without everyone getting stretched too thin.

so for now, please dont bump the server on Disboard until i say otherwise. i'll open it back up when things happen to quiet down.

New peeps, dont be afraid to ask questions or take your time reading through everything. Theres a lot here at first, but we'll help you get situated. Thanks,

Anzo's Game of Chess is an ongoing Clone Wars arc being run by @SLAYER and it mostly focuses on the conflict between the Republic and the Separatists with missions that can include battles, skirmishes, non-combat scenes, etc, all depending on what's going on in the story

You dont have to play a Republic or Separatist character to possibly get involved in it because some missions might also have room for bounty hunters, mercs, hired guns, or basically any other neutral character that might be worried more about making a profit.

If you're interested in joining, put a reaction on this announcement or contact @SLAYER, and staff can get you the @Anzo's Game of Chess Participants role

Note that you'll need an approved character to receive the role

be brutally honest; it doesn't need to be 5 stars. if you think we're doing good, tell us what you like! if you think there are things we need to improve, say that too. i'd rather have honest feedback than a fake 5-star server.

all I ask is that any criticism that you DO give stays constructive. tell us what works for you, what doesnt work for you, what confused you, what helped you find your groove here, what you think could be clearer, whether the community was welcoming, etc.

I say this cuz reviews help people know what kind of server this is before they join and it'll also motivate us to keep everything going. thank you!

@Verified Member Reminder, because this came up more than once today, which is sad.

I need all of you to treat each other with basic respect. you can disagree with someone. you can verbally spar with someone jokingly. you can give criticism. criticism needs to stay constructive. calling people losers, cucks, stupid, or dogpiling people is not acceptable here.

the star wars fandom already has a LOT of toxic people running around it. the world itself already has enough bad news and bad faith arguments. I do NOT want this server turning into another place where people log in just to argue, insult people, or take shots at people over fictional characters and opinions. you're all adults, please act like it.

If you don’t have anything nice or constructive to say, then simply dont say it. you dont need to comment on everything. you dont need to instigate shit.

this server is meant to be a safe place for people to write, hang out, and enjoy star wars together. but that only works if the people here HELP ME keep those standards and that starts with respecting each other. so if this keeps happening, I'm gonna start handling this a lot more strictly with warnings, timeouts and removals. I dont want to keep repeating rules that everyone already agreed to when they joined.

@Anj was officially moved up to admin today, shes already been helping with the server for a while now while i haven't been around as much as i'd like to when it comes to it, especially with character stuff and keeping an eye on the health of the community. this is mostl me actually making that trust official

so for everyone here, this means shes doing pretty much everything i can do with server concerns and general staff stuff when needed. like the rest of the staff, including me, she'll still ask for second opinions when something needs more staff input. while us admins usually get the final say, it's not without actually getting the thoughts of our helpers and staff.

hey everyone, small update.

thanks to everyone here for giving this server some life, and showing up and just existing here in general. it's appreciated more than you probably know, because that tells me that what we have here is enjoyable for a lot of peeps, and i want this server to be a cozy place for people to write and not have to deal with drama among other irl shit that's going on

now i wanna make this announcement mainly just to request us to stop bumping for now. this server was always meant to stay smaller and more tight-knit, and that's a big part of why we're doing so well when it comes to people's comfort levels and interaction. so, i'd like us to stop bumping for the time being so we can focus more on the people who are already here and the stories we're already building together. when things start to slow down, i'll give us a heads-up and let us start bumping again.

alrighty, I think we're all set here. dunno about y'all but i'm happy with the amount of people we've pulled in and with how many new characters we've got and the amount of rp that's going on.

i appreciate everyone here for sticking with us and being nerds and being passionate and being all of that stuff in between. you're all the reason that the server's even alive rn.

anyways, just wanted to put this announcement up to say that i'm cool with us going back to bumping now for a bit. if/when we start getting a shit ton of people again that's too hard to keep up with, we'll do the same thing we did a few weeks ago and focus on supporting everyone who's already came through and is showing interest.
