Summary
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments server shares a detailed breakdown of a bulky Dragonite and Venusaur team composition. This guide covers strategic matchups, move set optimization, and meta-game adjustments for competitive play. It provides valuable insights into balancing defensive utility with offensive pressure, helping community members refine their own teams to combat current competitive trends.
Yet again, I have made another dragonite team after using the dragonite delphox team with a different set, since I was happy with the way dragonite felt.

This team is a lot more bulky and both Dragonite and Venasaur play rly similarily so its easy to adapt to each mega. Funnily enough mega venasaur is actually good for sun teams bcause it is rly good into glimmora whims and thanks to thick fat can survive a sun boosted weather ball.
I have sorted the team based on situation. The two in the middle can be brought against most matchups (incin and dragonite), mamoswine and hatterene are more situational, usually used against tr or rain ocassionally and the top 2 are rly good against most weather teams and kinda steal the spotlight when brought.
The team is rly bulky and pretty balanced with one major flaw in the fact that only 2 pokemon currently have protect. Dragonite can use protect but its hard to justify removing any of the other moves. Scarf-Basculegion and Incin don't usually run protect so thats fine. You could easily run protect over after you on hatterene and you probably should but after you is kinda usefull in order to further combat hard tr.
Darkest lariat or throat chop is probably better than taunt, but taunt is rly useful at stopping gimmicky teams.
Respectfully what the hell do YOU need team building advice for
You could make a slurpuff viable in doubles
Main issue I see is the dragonite
Looks like his trying to do to many jobs at once
Fair enough tbh
I think outrage or scale shot might be better than dragon claw, bcause scale shot lets dragonite actually be useful even if it has a lower damage output and outrage lets it hit nearly as hard as draco meteor
Thanks for the complement
Just in case anybody wants to try something similar to this team, my current team has changed substantially to try combat the newest trends in the meta - https://pokepast.es/2447f9d54b6a00a9
