ملخص
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments community is exploring the viability of competitive teams built exclusively with single-type Pokémon. This discussion focuses on team composition, strategic support, and optimal EV spreads to avoid gimmick-heavy playstyles. Members are actively debating the best support options and damage dealers to create a balanced, non-gimmick team for the current VGC meta.
I want to see how good of a team one can create if every pokemon doesn't have a secondary type

It looks really good tbh
I guess the hard part will come
Down to the EVs like the team looks ‘good’
Could do cinderace over arcanine, but other than that I agree it does look pretty good
Cinderace can't really stick around that much, and even though Arcanine is a damage dealer, intimidate is still a plus over the bunny.
True
I like it
Unsure on the cat
Waig
Lowkey
What cat?,meow?
It's mostly here to keep flower rats alive. I don't really have speed control that's not Raichu y so damage control is my best bet
Will you hear me out?
Yup
I have an idea
Meowscarada
TECHBICALLY
It is a solo type
I didn't use garchomp Z because while it is, there are points where the dual typing comes into play before becoming mono, weather positive or negative
Fairs
Figured id table it
What about something like ditto?
Audino not a bad shout either
Definitely counts, but I don't really like investing in gimmicks and cheese. I don't like win/lose turn one teams
Tr twave
Meowstic can do that, and Raichu y too
Very wide supporting moveset
Damn
No gimmicks 🥀
Audino
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 50
EVs: 31 HP / 5 SpD / 30 Spe
Timid Nature
- Simple Beam
Outspeeds minspeed floette
😭😭
Im larping rn th9
Do you know possible EVs for them?
Hmm
What do you think
Anyone know what EVs to give these pokemon?
Usually I try to find teams that used a specific pokemon + item and steal their EVs, but barring that I usually just balance stats. For example, +1 DEF Milotic with Bold nature, with 32 HP / 11 DEF / 23 SPD has balanced defenses with a bump on defense. For something like meowstic I'd try to live whatever moves you think are common after a screen. If you're worried about kingambit it'd be reflect Kowtow cleave (which meowstic always survived with 32 HP invest, but black glasses requires some def invest), then just pick a stat to bump, and then try to balance defense. Eventually you'll figure out what is killing you pokemon.
Arcanine with Lorb can just be 2 HP / 32 ATK / 32 SPE, if its dying to things, switch it to a defensive spread until it makes sense on your team.
Random calm mind floette EV spread I found: 10 HP / 23 Def / 1 SpA / 32 Spe
Random Ychu EV spread: 32 HP / 11 Def / 23 Spe
Miracle seed rillaboom from same team as Ychu: 26 HP / 30 Atk / 1 Def / 4 SpD / 5 Spe
Thanks
