Yeah, I’d commit to the Archaludon rain version. The first team clearly worked, but it looks like it starts falling apart once people bring stronger cores like Mega Swampert, Venusaur, or Trick Room.

The rain team gives you a much cleaner structure.

5 changes I’d make:

  1. Give Grimmsnarl proper screens.
Light Clay should be used with Reflect and Light Screen. That helps your whole team live longer, especially Archaludon, Basculegion, and Sneasler.
  2. Make Pelipper run Tailwind and Wide Guard.
Pelipper should not just set rain. It should also give speed control and protect the team from spread moves like Rock Slide, Earthquake, Heat Wave, Make It Rain, Hyper Voice, and Eruption.
  3. Take Choice Scarf off Basculegion.
Choice Scarf with Protect is awkward. Mystic Water is much cleaner because Basculegion can still hit hard, use Aqua Jet, switch moves, and Protect when needed.
  4. Make Sinistcha full support.
I’d run Matcha Gotcha, Rage Powder, Trick Room, and Protect. This helps a lot into Mega Swampert and gives you a way to fight Trick Room instead of just getting run over by it.
  5. Keep Archaludon simple and consistent.
It should be using Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect. In rain, Archaludon wants to apply pressure every turn, not rely on gimmicky moves.

How to play it:

The main plan is Pelipper + Archaludon. Pelipper sets rain, then Archaludon starts threatening fast Electro Shots while becoming hard to remove.

Basculegion is your cleaner. Once the opponent is chipped and rain is up, it can finish games with Wave Crash, Aqua Jet, and Last Respects.

Grimmsnarl makes the team bulkier with screens, while Sinistcha helps into Mega Swampert and Trick Room with Rage Powder, Matcha Gotcha, and Trick Room control.

Sneasler gives you Fake Out and fast pressure. White Herb + Close Combat can also activate Unburden, which makes it a lot harder to deal with.

The simple version is:

Set rain, protect your attackers with screens or Fake Out, pressure with Archaludon, then clean with Basculegion. Use Sinistcha when you need help into Swampert or Trick Room.
