Mastering Rain & Trick Room: VGC Team Building Guide

The main goal here to have sort of balance. My two mega are good for different situations, mega golisopod core there core is supposed to be rain / trick room team he is good into every team except for the zard and pyroar team so I would bring mega genagr and perish trap into those matchups.

The perish trap core where genagr is the main focus he is able to sweeep teams that don’t have ghost type and some specific dark type Pokémon.

The main problem is I have been struggling with is exactly what rain and trick room setter I should have the options I have been throwing around is, politoad ( it good to set up rain and good for perish trap stuff and zard matchups), indee is good for trick rooom and helping the team survive through perish song.

This is the first idea And I’m open to ideas for which Pokémon’s to use.

I was also running mimkyu around too hehe I have Primarina as an attacker and solid check into bax and fire types

Pokémon VGC Strategy: Delphox & Indeedee Synergy Guide

Quick Run down Indeedee + Delphox (mega) + Expanding Force = What i was trying to do
I had Sneasler with Psychic Seed + CC, Dire, Coaching, Protect
CC feels off with no white Herb, and Coaching seems useless as the attack does air for the other 2 (i had king gambito but terrian screws him over worse than drunk seeing a bar and then his wife)

This is for doubles, and by all means start from scratch with indeed and delphox, sneasler isnt a requirement just what i was attempting

Optimizing Japan Sand: VGC Team Building Advice

Wanted to use Japan Sand since Mega Mence is back. Haven’t played fast sand since M-A and not familiar with the archetype.

The sets are as follows:

Salamence @ Salamencite
Hasty Nature
Intimidate
10 ATK / 24 SPATK / 32 SPE
- Tailwind
- Double-Edge
- Hyper Voice
- Protect

Standard 2018 set for the archetype, rarely use TW, too threatened by Ice types despite Ttar and Exca.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Jolly Nature
Sand Stream
32 ATK / 2 DEF / 32 SPE
- Rock Slide
- Superpower
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off

Standard Scarf Ttar, inflexibility is rough on me.

Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Adamant Nature
Sand Rush
2 HP / 32 ATK / 32 SPE
- Protect
- High Horsepower
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head

Standard Sand Rush set, JS set had LO, gave it to Rotom, hard to use outside of sand.

Milotic @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
Competitive
32 HP / 32 DEF / 2 SPATK
- Protect
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Life Dew

Standard set, genuinely solid on my team.

Sinistcha @ Sitrus Berry
Calm Nature
Hospitality
32 HP / 14 DEF / 20 SPDEF
- Matcha Gotcha
- Strength Sap
- Trick Room
- Rage Powder

Standard set, hardly bring it, hardly does anything.

Rotom-Heat @ Life Orb
Calm Nature
Levitate
32 HP / 6 DEF / 5 SPDEF / 23 SPE
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Protect

Weird set, need a counter to Pelipper, Corviknight and Mega Golisopod. Good against those, horrible against everything else.

Pokémon Trading Rules & Safety Guide | Pokémon Champions

𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗘

Trade responsibly. Ask questions first. Only accept an offer you are comfortable with.

01 ・ SELLING & SCAMMING

No selling Pokémon. No scamming.
Either will result in a ban.

Be honest about what you are offering. Do not knowingly misrepresent a Pokémon’s origin or legitimacy.

02 ・ TRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK

All trades are conducted at your own risk.

Staff do not facilitate, guide or supervise trades, and we will not check or authenticate your Pokémon.

Feel free to ask questions in chat before trading. Community advice is not a guarantee of legitimacy.

03 ・ OFFICIAL TOURNAMENTS

If you intend to use a Pokémon in an official tournament, do not source it from an unregulated trade channel.

Catch it yourself or ask a trusted community member for help obtaining it. Make sure you understand where it came from before using it competitively.

04 ・ AFTER YOUR TRADE

If you later discover that you received a genned Pokémon, moderators will not authenticate it, arrange a replacement or reverse the trade.

You are responsible for the offers you accept. Staff cannot resolve uncertainty about a Pokémon’s history after you have agreed to trade.

Evidence of deliberate scamming can still be reported to staff. A report does not guarantee recovery of your Pokémon.

𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨’𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚

WHAT DOES “GENNED” MEAN?

Genned Pokémon are created using external tools. Pokémon can also be edited or cloned.

A Pokémon can have possible stats, moves and encounter details while still having been created or altered outside normal gameplay.

- # Community reference — not an official tournament rulebook.

QUESTIONS TO ASK

  • Who caught or bred it?
  • Which game did it come from?
  • Was it obtained through another trade?
  • Is it known to have been generated, edited or cloned?

SIGNS TO INVESTIGATE

  • Website advertisements in its nickname or Original Trainer name.
  • Apparently impossible details, such as its encounter, Poké Ball, moves or ribbons.
  • Repeated identical rare Pokémon offered without a clear explanation of their source.

Shiny, Level 100, EV trained or in a rare ball does not automatically mean genned. Trainer IDs and ribbons also need context.

No visual checklist guarantees legitimacy. Knowing where a Pokémon came from matters more than how convincing it looks.

CATCH OR BREED YOUR OWN

Use a game you already own to catch Pokémon or breed them where supported.

Ask in chat for help with locations, encounter methods or spare breeding parents.

POKÉMON GO

Free to start, with Pokémon you can catch yourself.

Eligible Pokémon can be transferred to Pokémon HOME. Transfer energy replenishes over time, so you can wait instead of paying.

Transfers are one-way, and compatibility restrictions apply.

GO → HOME transfer guide

POKÉMON HOME

The mobile app’s free Basic Plan includes limited access to the GTS and Wonder Box.

These can help fill collection gaps, but receiving a Pokémon through HOME does not guarantee legitimacy.

How Pokémon HOME trading works

COMMUNITY SPARES & GIVEAWAYS

Ask whether another member has a spare Pokémon or breeding offspring they are happy to give away.

Explain what you need, ask about its origin and respect their answer.

Free does not automatically mean legitimate. For tournament Pokémon, prioritise a source you can trust.

Mega Garchomp Sand Team Guide | Pokémon VGC Strategy

I've always wanted to use mega chomp since seeing it cuz hes so cool. Though, when others saw failure in Levitate, I saw opprotunity. My main idea is to equake spam with Exca next to MEGA CHOMP Z, and have a overall very offensive sand team, with defense where needed.

Mega Chomp. Let's start with it's strenghts. It's incredibly fast, it hits decently hard, and is immune to ground moves. Pure Dragon resits a lot, like Yard heatwave, grassy glide and wood hammer, Wave crash and aqua jet, Flare blitz, and so on. He has coverage that hits a lot in this format, like Power Gem for dem Yards and Flamethrower for dem Golisopods and Rillabooms. I sadly need full-ish special attack to manage to ohko these threats, but it works out great. With his speed this high, I build it to outspeed Mega Frosslass, Sneasler, Salamence and other stuff in that tier. Now, he struggles a lot into floette, not being able to hit it back, while usually getting OHKOed by any touch of fairy moves. It loses ground stab, and keeps that high attack stat without it being used. So these are what we need to find in good teamates.

Ttar. Ttar is here to setup the sand and hopefully get a Ddance or 2, then rockslide to oblivion. It walls frosslass, which is incredibly nice for this guy, and hits overall really hard, with the added bonus of item removal. Ttar has always been a complete menace with one glaring weakness: Fighting types, but most of the relavent fighting types cripple to Garchomp + Excadrill anyways. (Kommo-o, sneasler, etc) Ttar is holding the Tyranitarite due to lack of better or more valuable item.

Excadrill. Oh boy, life orb boosted earthquakes hit hard. Excadrill is my main damage source, with sand rush and life orb hitting extreemly hard. I moved some points from speed into HP so grassy glide is less game-ending, and I have X-Scissor to hit those Rillabooms back. I know, rock slide is way better, but I have rock moves on both the mentioned mon already. It hits Floette, so that helps.

Mega Salamence VGC Team Building Guide | Pokémon Champions

i've built a core of salamence, floette and rillaboom so far but i'm not sure who to add
Mega Salamence-
He is suppost to be that base of my team being able to nuke serious threats but also able to tank hits too. he is also able to support the team with tailwind
Rillaboom-
i want him to be providing support through fake out and grassy terrain support while being able to tank hits and hit decently hard with grass moves
Floette-
she is suppost to support rillaboom by preventing him from getting intimidated while still being very threatning through strong spread damage. I am unsure about evs and move set tho
issues-
i have a bad matchup into kingambit, mawile, archaludon, gholdengo, and metagross
also i don't want to use sneasler, kingambit, incineroar, archaludon, gholdengo, golisopod or swampert
