Hello I'm kind of new to competitive Pokémon, but I really don't want to use all the meta picks, mostly because I just don't like those Pokémon. I tried to build a team centered around Hisuian Goodra, but I feel like I'm missing something. I don't really know which Mega I should use or whether I actually need Trick Room. If I do, what should I change, and who should I replace? I'm willing to change almost everything :Politoed_By_Sifyro:

Ok so I assume the idea of this is that you're trying to set up Goodra and sweep?

@happykitten-50 Ok so I assume the idea of this is that you're trying to set up Goodra and sweep?
wittyviolet-74 OP

yeah kinda

@wittyviolet-74 yeah kinda
happykitten-50

We can work with that
Fist thing is, the team is pretty weak to garchomp, Zard Y and ghost types in general
Initially, we should probably figure out a Mega that helps with at least a couple of those, and I really really like Frosslass here

happykitten-50

Because Aurora Veil is also going to be super helpful in keeping Goodra alive

happykitten-50

I also think Sinistcha will be super helpful here as eaxtra healing and redirection, as well as trick room if you really need to outspeed everything

happykitten-50

Then you need a pokemon that can just beat Zard, so Garchomp works really well with rockslide. It's also just an insane pokemon anyways haha

happykitten-50

I also like Raichu Y as a second mega, mostly to help against Zard teams in a similar offensive way, as well as fake out support so you can set up Goodra more easily

happykitten-50

Lastly, for both tailwind support, wide guard utility and a way to beat whimsicott I would recommend Aerodactyl

wittyviolet-74 OP

Isnt going raichu and trick room like a anyi sinergy?

wittyviolet-74 OP

Oh double speed control

@wittyviolet-74 Oh double speed control
happykitten-50

Exactly

happykitten-50

Trick Room will kinda be a just in case thing

wittyviolet-74 OP

Makes sense

wittyviolet-74 OP

I like it

wittyviolet-74 OP

So I only keep the goodra?

happykitten-50

Pretty much yeah

happykitten-50

Everything else doesn't really help goodra except maybe dragapult

happykitten-50

But there are better options

wittyviolet-74 OP

Ill give it a try

happykitten-50

I'll make a pokepaste quickly

happykitten-50

happykitten-50

happykitten-50

You should probably take off life dew from goodra

happykitten-50

Put an actual move that can hit ghost types

happykitten-50

Cause you could absolutely still lose haha

happykitten-50

like dragon pulse will be fine
