I tried asking for help on Reddit but just got bombarded with insults so here I am lol.

I’m very new to VGC and started putting a team together on showdown. I only have 4 pokemon rn and need to fill in two more. I was also told that apparently Spec Groudon sucks. I’m having trouble finding good resources to help me learn. I’ll take any advice I can get

Thanks!

I agree this is a solid start, however i think it’s beneficial to have a pokemon with more speed control! You also trained groudon in SpAtk when his Atk stat is 50 points higher.

I suggest a pokemon light Prankster Whim with Tailwind with the focus sash, and give the choice specs to Flutter.

This paired with Groudon’s sun would let her outspeed other mons without tailwind while also boosting your SpAtk. Alternatively you could give her the choice scarf and increase the spAtk so it’s boosted by the sun.

The most important question to start with when building a team is: “What is the goal of the team”

Then once you have set on a goal, you ask yourself “what pokemon best fit the requirements”

So obviously, it’s better to have more coverage.

I run indee and caly-s in the current reg, and give indee the grass tera to redirect spores. I could just use Amoo, but indee ALSO sets up P Terrian for Expanding Force, learns helping hands, and imprison. This strategy is good bc i can lock my opponents out of protect

Groudon is also pure ground type, so unless you’re using tera fire…. you aren’t doing the best damage. Also protect is a good move to run! A few of your natures negatively affect your stats, i would also suggest using a nature that -Atk/SpAtk depending on what your not using

Also depending what format you’ll run . At the moment it’s double restricted so you’d need to add another one. Clay ice pairs good with Groudon or lunala
