Summary
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments server is hosting a deep dive into optimizing a Mega Dragalge team for the current regulation. This discussion focuses on improving speed control, integrating Farigiraf for Helping Hand support, and finding effective counters for Steel-type threats like Kingambit and Archaludon. Community members are invited to share their expertise on team synergy and competitive viability to help refine this unique build.
While he climbs the Pokemon VGC ladder and provides live commentary as he goes he used a team using Mega Dragalge and I've been using it. Currently, I'm a little torn on the team, I'm not often setting trick room so I'm playing without speed control, and just trying to outplay and outlast other teams. I think there's a better team in here somewhere but was hoping to get some help finding it. I understand Dragalge is not the best Mon, but I think it's good enough to do stuff.
Currently my thought is that the team kind of wants to play in trick room but it also would like helping hand because Dragalge with lots of Spa investment misses a lot of OHKOs but barely. This makes me think farigiraf would be a good choice for the team. But I was struggling to figure out what kind of farig to run and how to fit in the team without losing all of my damage.
I like a9 because it deals with garchomp fairly well. Sini feels necessary for the team. Incin feels pretty good obviously, but I could see it being swapped for something to help with steel types and if it also helps with trick room that'd be neat. Still not 100% on life orb 0 speed Gambit but I've used similar builds for a bit and it's fine. I could also see messing with or replacing rotom wash, but fast will-o-wisp is fantastic into chomp and gambit.
Would love some thoughts on adjustments to try and make my speed control feel more natural and how to improve dealing with steel types (Gambit and arch are both problems)

The tag "Team Questiom" has a typo
Mega Dragalge Team from Aaron Zheng I'd like to improve for the current Reg
So here is the thing. The team is super coherent as it is. Yes, it wants to play in trick room but there is really no mons here I feel comfortable swapping to make that happen. Cybertron is an amazing teambuilder and each one of these mons have a specific set purpose. At most You could say maybe no sini here, but now you lose redirection, you lose a counter to rain and you lose healing.
Maybe ninetales but you lose bulk and another answer into dragonite/garchomp
Yeah, that's what my struggle was. I don't have a great answer to steel types but the team is already good other than that
Take protect off sini and give it trick room
And drop shadow ball for life dew
Life dew is based
Take the speed off of Atails make her bulky
Can rotom not be dropped?
Fast will-o-wisp and good defensively with Dragalge. The primary lead is rotom+Dragalge and it feels strong except for trying to answer steel types, specifically arch is harder because will-o-wisp does nothing and drag can't hurt them
