VGC Team Review and Item Help

Summary

In Pokémon Champions this announcement asks for optimizations and offers team feedback on Incineroar, Whimsicott, Sylveon, Dragonite, Aggron and Ninetales. It covers suggested move or set swaps, special vs physical Dragonite trends, and troubleshooting why a purchased Fairy Feather won’t appear as an equip option for Sylveon.

Original Post

Not new to vgc but I am new to playing it. I dabbled in competitive vgc here and there throughout scarlet and violet. But as far as team building goes I suck ngl. Any help and tips would be appreciated :3 also why can't I give my sylveon a fairy feather ;-;

  1. Incineroar
No comments, standard build with nothing wrong
  2. Whimsicott
Fine, but I personally don’t like 2 non-prankster moves on my whimsicott. Would replace u-turn
  3. Sylveon
A good sylveon build but sylveon isn’t super powerful right now
  4. Dragonite
I mostly see special dragonite builds these days, but for a physical build, yours is great
  5. Aggron
Good set, not sure if there is something better to replace stealth rocks
  6. Ninetales
I like it, but adding aurora veil never hurts

Any reason I can't give certain items to certain pokemon I want despite buying the item?(ex. Fairy Feather for Sylveon)

Reply

Not really, items are pretty free choice right now

I mean like it doesn't let me ;-; I bought it and wanna give it to sylveon to boost hyper voice(since he has pixilate) but it doesn't give me the option

You have the click r in the item selection screen, its like a hidden section

I was confused earlier

Is what I assumed a battle item not a battle item?

here's some resources you might want to reference

they only have data from previous formats for now, but they're still good for getting a basic understanding of sets for individual mons and team composition
