I’d say this is allowed! I don’t really have an issue with the concept itself, especially since it’s a homemade weapon and you’ve already given it some pretty obvious weaknesses with the exposed wiring and lack of protection.
I would just like a little more clarification on the actual limits of the U.M.R. Mainly how powerful the beam is, how long it can continuously fire, its range, whether it needs to charge/cool down, and what exactly “small scale property destruction” means.
I’d also recommend adding overheating as a weakness. Since it’s basically a homemade particle accelerator, prolonged use could make the machine unstable and eventually force the user to shut it down. Damage to the exposed wiring or the main backpack unit could also disable it entirely.
Other than that, I think it’s fine! I actually like that it’s a weapon that can potentially be disabled instead of just being another artifact that gives the user a bunch of powers.
