Fuel Octane and Savings Advice for r/Lebanon

Summary

On r/Lebanon the community discusses two practical threads: whether using octane boosters is effective or harmful given lower-than-advertised fuel octane, and where a young adult can securely store about $10k outside unreliable Lebanese banks without using physical cash or gold. These topics matter for everyday safety and financial security in Lebanon.

octane boosters

I heard that some people are putting octane boosters in their tanks because the benzin that we've been getting has lower octane than advertised apparently. have you tried this? do you know if it's really effective or if it would fuck up my engine?

Where to consider storing savings as a young adult

I am a young adult who's been working for a few years, and I have accumulated \~10k usd in savings, they are mostly in a lebanese bank account under my name. I don't want to keep them there both because of the unreliability of banks here and the 0% interest rate (not) given by the bank, I don't want my savings to melt because of inflation. I also don't want a solution that involves physical storing of something (like cash or gold), I don't want to store/hide stuff where I live.

What are some solutions I should consider? I want something easy, safe and reliable to store them for a medium term.
