I just finished paying for first semester bill for college, 15k. As a suny school that’s a lot. I believe college shouldn’t cost a dime, some countries have free college BUT their taxes are higher so it can even out. I live in the us, i live in the city. Why am i paying an annual salary for a job i wont be starting for another 10 years? AND for you to take half my earnings? Some people do get free college due to lifestyles or background but you still have to pay for the small fees, like my meal plan was paid for and all my books, that’s 7k$ FOR ONE SEMESTER. That’s insane and i honestly think since so many people think college is a scam, if we were to make it free we wouldn’t have a low employment rate bc people would be able to pursue their dream job free of charge

Suny colleges are non profit How else would they get the money to pay for the expenses to support your education other than raising taxes. Even if they do make a profit suny schools are owned by the state making the money instead going into other programs.

ur suny college is a no profit college owned by the state. your tuition is the exact amount needed for your education its not too expensive

suny schools without aid in my state is around 25K, with aid 15k below that’s still a lot

Lots of people should take gap years before going to uni but they don’t and end up choosing a random major just for the sake of it. The US isn’t a country in which you can be doing that.
