YES I have listened to both genres. Both genres are definetly up there among the best but rap is just ever so slightly higher than rock. Im not trying to say rap is perfect, there have been times where it gets dry and all the songs sound the same or similar. Rock is awesome but isnt perfect either, sometimes the lyrics are just dry and the only thing carrying the music is the band playing. My reason for saying rap is better is because most rap songs have a concrete "point" that you can understand and hear every lyric knowing that theres reason to it. And rock is just a general "feel good" kind of music where the lyrics are on the back burner, just complimenting the music itself. Like, id play rock in the car and then play rap if im contemplating life.
