Pokémon VGC Theorycrafting: Metagross & Palafin Meta Analysi
Please drop any feedback or suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Please drop any feedback or suggestions. Thanks in advance!
For a few days, I've been scratching my head over who should i slot in for the last 2 party member spaces for this team that involves Mega Gengar's shadow tag to create unfavorable situations that my opponent is forced to play against and allow the partner pokemon to take knockouts easily (Primarily Kommo-o). Ideally, the last 2 team members should enable me an alternate gameplan if Mega Gengar does not work whether that be via a secondary mega or just 2 usual pokemon.
Looking for regular versions in something that isn't a regular pokeball, if someone has any to spare please. I dont really have much to offer unfortunately.

Wanted to hear feedback from some of ya if you are interested in under used Pokémon and making them work

Baxcalibur: The man, the myth, the legend. Ice gives super effective coverage on a ton of mons, and dragon gives amazing neutral STAB. It gets a priority ice move that doesn't make contact, and glaive rush downside can be ignored by a protect or ice shard (granted that whims/farig isnt on the field). Very bulky, very strong, middling 85 speed.
Grimm: Screens! EVEN MORE BULK! FAKE OUT AND PARTING SHOT! INCINEROAR IF HE EXPERIMENTED IN COLLEGE WITH THE GAYS AND THE THEYS.
Rillaboom: Recovery, utility, big wood hammer. Presuming they dont remove fake out or u turn, I feel this is a must (although sinistcha is super tempting.)
Talonflame: TW setter, quick guard to block prio moves from anything not named aerodactyl, acrobatics because focus sash, and flare blitz to get it off the field in a hurry if I needs a free switch.
Palafin: I just think he is neat. Huge BST, mono-water typing, access to CC or Drain Punch, all around a good mon to have.
Metagross: Secondary Mega and destroyer of toxipex. No meteor mash because I hate missing, and stomping tantrum because grassy terrain reducing EQ damage.
Team Goal: Protect the leader. Bax/Meta too slow? Use Talonflame. Too squishy? Grimmsnarl. Too dead? Rillaboom. Palafin is the ace in the hole who we leave in the back after a flip turn on turn 1, allowing us to cycle in rilla/grim for 2 consecutive fakeouts, or to pivot baxcalibur into a quad resist grass attack or a regular resist electric attack.
Pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, very chill. Yes, incin would be better then Grimm, but I want screens to amplify the already magnanimous bulk that is mega baxcalibur and talonflame for prio tw is a must, so no cat im afraid.
Is the gameplan simple, YES. Would Sinistcha be a strict upgrade to Rilla because rage powder? Maybe. Will this team do anything well? Probably not. But! it is a start.
Let me know what you think, I would love your thoughts!
Message me if u have one and we can negotiate a trade 😊

Any recommendations or advice? Honestly, Tinkaton is quite useful against Farigraf rivals, although Wide Guard gives me trouble. I don't know if I should remove Trick Room from Gardevoir and give it Moonblast
Hey, I'm looking for a Shiny Deino or its evos if anyone has a spare one, I have a Shiny Pidgey or Klefki to offer
I just made it and looks dope.I don't have the mons to test it out.Someone test this and give feedback?

Maushold is just used to provide support with follow me, boost ape and archaludon by beat up and soften opposing mons with super fang, also to reset rain
Pelipper is offensive cause i like hard hitting and fast pelippers (basically the tradition on my rain teams)
Archaludon is max spdef allowing it to live more hits on its weaker defense stat
Annihilape is just the standard? set
Mpert is just mpert
Basc has psyfangs to take a surprise ko on white herb sneaslers (or just drop them to their sash to get koed by smth else)
Most of the time i lose just because of me being stupid.
Need help identifying bad matchups.
And fixes if possible
I just wanna learn about counters for this team I'm running and is there any place where I can sneak dusk lycanroc in
I wanna know if this is right and good or should I change anything?
Hii, im kinda new to pokemon competitive, and now i wanna get more into it, i would appreciate if anyone would use some of their time to help me create a team, understand it, and do their moves and evs for each one, thanks and sorry for bothering ^^ you all are free to dm me too ^^
I dont have time rn to do a full write up because its about 2 am my time and I'm going to bed, but I have this team I have been thinking about and I just am not sure how to best make it work. Basically a hard trick room team with defensive megas in Scrafty and Dragalge, figuring they work well together in their desire to pivot, meaning that options that facilitate their exit would work regardless of the mega brought. But to that end, I feel as though I am hitting a brick wall. The mons that feel slow enough to use in trick room with them offer very little utility (I had originally an Orthworm on the team until I realized how much anti-synergy he had with the megas, only really serving to pivot dragalge from earthquakes.)
I thought about running it in rain for thunders from Dragalge but then Scrafty gets threatened by hurricane, I think sun could be a really good idea cause of how good the matchup is into zardY, but besides torkoal, idk what other tr mons are in the format with any benefit from the sun.
Needless to say, I am struggling with trying to find a way to make this TR strat work because i dont think that M-Dragalge is useable outside of it, and I think it has some solid potential if you can clear garchomp and froslass for it.
Worst Matchups by far are M-Staraptor Sand and M-Fross. Non Staraptor sand feels fine when using the scrafty mode and dragalge does great into sun. Rain is a toss up, can play either mode depending on what mega's they are running. Would also like to find a second trick room setter. I know sinistcha would fit well here but I think the hydrapple gives a lot of value as a strong regenerator mon with a ground resist and coverage against psychic AND healing allies. Also, is the EV spread on Dragalge actually playable? You lose a lot of damage but its what you have to do to guarantee live a life orb gchomp EQ, and we have regenerator so surviving strong hits feels pretty paramount.
⚡ New team! 🌿🦉
Been testing this Hisuian Decidueye + Grassy Terrain team for a while. The main plan is Grassy Glide, but there’s also a Mega Tyranitar + Dragon Dance mode for matchups where it’s harder to rely on Decidueye.
Team ID: NNMJ1S9M90
Give it a try if you’re interested! Would love to hear what you think 👀
My friends how many times has rng betrayed us? How many times did we have to cry in despair cuz I opponent using hypnosis turn 1. How many times were we caught off guard by weird teams?
I KAKATSKI HEREBY DECLARE TO MAKE ALL OF THEM SHIVER IN FEAR.
Join me and help me build a team with every annoying strat rolled into one let it be minimize stockpile or perish trap or sleep or toxic stall, we will combine them and make the opponent throw his phone after his defeat... But I can't do it all by myself cuz I am naive, so I call out the best of the best of trainers at evil strategies to help me build this team.
I recently registered a tournaments that has a special challenge which we cannot bring any items and megas so I thought that a team built around palafin might be a great idea, I need a suggestion and recommendation guys. Feel free to give me advice
By trying to follow all the regulations in this group I would like to have to say something first.
I am really bad at team making, not horrible but I wouldn’t say I’m good when it comes to curtain aspects. I need help building the ENTIRE team, I have a start point and a few suggestions and I know it’s silly to follow only your fav pokemon but those are my morals.
Any help would be gladly appreciated and if you can have fun making my team or viewing it thank you and please enjoy.
After many changes and adjustments, i have finally completed my hard trick room team ft. Mega Camerupt and Mega Scraggy.
Here is the team: https://pokepast.es/578f4ac58c9df6c4
Im trying to make a team that includes both Lucario and Mega Loppuny. I would love to get help with stats and what moves to equip. Also need help with what other Pokémon i should include on the team and these Pokémons movesets and stats
Can anyone help me in building a team using the mons in the below mentioned. It is for some tournament where no Meta and Megas are allowed. https://haru-exe.github.io/forkthemetapokedex/
Im offering Necrozma for it
