Mega Barbaracle VGC Strategy Guide | Pokémon Champions

Mega Barbaracle. A mega that when you look at him on paper, he's like "Oh he looks kinda cool" then you look at his typing into the meta and go "Oh god." His design doesn't do any heavylifting either. But... with the rise of Rain Yard, Rain without Basculegon, and less Staraptor, Barbaracle might be able to slip through the cracks and steal games. Teamsheet for reference: https://pokepast.es/662e6a206bee7b25

First off we got the big Barb himself, Barabaracle. Barbaracle is nice because you don't actually NEED to mega evolve him every game, unlike some other megas I've used in the recent past. Barbaracle is a setup sweeper with Rock slide and Close combat for stab, protect for protect, and Shell smash to boost speed and attack (and ig special attack but guh.) He's Adamant 4 speed to outspeed even max max Z megas after a Shell smash (although not faster than many scarfed mon, so be wary,) with a lot in defenses so even after the defense drops, it can still stay relativly bulky, especially in sand. A nice think you can do is dely your mega while you setup so you resist some moves better, like Steel, Fairy, Psychic, and Water. Once he gets going, he punches big holes in opposing teams or outright finishes them off himself.

Choice. Scarf. Metagross. Now I know what you're thinking."Gorey! Whatever you're on, let me have some." But hear me out. Metagross is here to remove opposing terrain, (or my own if it pains me) with steelroller since big Barb up there is weak to both Rillaboom and Psyspam. With Jolly max speed, it outspeeds the 130 point speed mark, BY 1 POINT. That way, it can throw off Stomping tantrums into Raichus, Psyfangs whilst ignoring Intimidate into Gengars, all while still being decently bulky, and has great synergy with Barbaracle. The rest of the st is fairly standard, with Iron head and Psy fangs.

Pokémon VGC Team Building: Glitchless Strategy Guide

Looking for improvements. To explain my thoughts behind this team boils down to a few things. (Yes I am limited on my pokemon as I'm in the middle of playing the games in order). Sandstorm battery with Ttar and earthworm, chip/stall with toxapex and increase spdef, halicha and Pikachu for pivots with immunities and regeneration plays with both earthworm and toxapex. Basculegion and Pikachu for DMG/ speeding up.

Competitive Sun & Rain VGC Team Guide | Pokémon Champions

Hey guys I’m creating a fun choice scarf Archaludon team with Charizard Y, Pelipper, Mega Golisopod as a second mega, Rillaboom and Incineroar.

Every calculation has been done with full investment and nature for the opposing Pokemon even though some of them are unlikely to be running full bulk and etc.

I do not play with Tailwind or Trick Room at all in any of my teams and don’t play with screens unless I use Aurora Veil since it’s a 1 turn move rather than wasting 2 turns on screens

Starting off with Charizard Y, I chose weather ball over heat wave because in case of H. Arcanine matchup rain weather ball from Zard just OHKO full bulk investment HA, and the speed investment has been made for that matchup specifically to outspeed full speed and nature by 1, especially because head smash from HA just OHKO my Zard. I use Hurricane especially because in rain I OHKO full bulk + psychic seed Sneasler. Helping Hand to support Solar Beam scarf Archaludon and then Protect.

Archaludon, speed investment with Scarf outspeeds anything below 150 base speed full investment and obviously some higher speed scarf Pokemon like a base Garchomp unfortunately I won’t be able to outspeed but I can control the damage taken with grassy terrain from EQ and other ground moves. Solar Beam with grassy terrain or helping hand OHKOs Mega Swampert and Electro Shot with the +1 OHKOs Basculegion both with full bulk investment, also my speed investment on Archaludon outspeeds scarfed Basculegion without Swift Swim. Flash cannon pretty straightforward it only 2HKOs fairy types since they are all so SpD bulky naturally so there’s nothing I can do about that even with Helping Hand. I’m unsure between Dragon Pulse and Draco Meteor, but I’m leaning more towards Pulse since being locked with scarf I wouldn’t want to receive consecutive -2 SpAs😅😅.

Mega-Gengar VGC Team Building Help | Pokémon Champions

The current version paste: https://pokepast.es/375f53b545d86e4d
I've post it on Reddit before but I need more help
https://www.reddit.com/r/VGC/s/DBOD51nWYO
The post explain most things and I've only changed Gengar EV
25+ Atk Rillaboom High Horsepower vs. 2 HP / 14 Def Gengar-Mega: 118-140 (86.1 - 102.1%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

I also found that H-arc isn't a safe Kingambit counter, sometimes forces me to bring Kommo-O in a unsafe matchup
A slightest mistake even RNG would make this team collapse so please help me find better version with margin of error.

Pokémon VGC Team Building: EV Advice & OTS Tournament Tips

https://pokepast.es/d6c3f65310fe7cca
First self made (serious) team for my first OTS tournament

Haven't done any of the EVs as I have little experience with the mons. Excadrill will probably be max speed max ATK, but the others I imagine wanting some bulk. Are there any benchmarks I could and should EV for? Any suggestions on set changes are also welcome 🙂

Bulky Balance Team Help: VGC Strategy & Advice

I built this team aiming for a "bulky balance" style, but it ended up becoming a somewhat questionable rain team. Honestly, I’d love some advice on how to improve it (I’d rather not add Pelipper or Politoed unless I drop Primarina—which I’m hoping to do, as the way I’m using it has been disappointing). I’m open to changes regarding EVs, specific Pokémon, or the overall concept.
I’d really appreciate any help, as I don’t have much experience with team building.
I’ve reached Master Ball rank for the past three seasons, though I haven't managed to climb higher than the top 200k.

Mega Gardevoir & Lucario VGC Team Building Advice

I have slightly tweaked the core 4 pokémon that I've been using this season to focus more on setup + offence (I have changed trick room on gardevoir to calm mind though that isn't in the screenshots) - I like how Gardevoir, Sneasler, Indeedee and Ceruledge all play as a core. I think Mega Lucario Z matches up surprisingly well into teams that Gardevoir struggles with (steel types, physical damage). I'm unsure on the sixth slot, however.

I'm leaning towards dragon dance Dragonite (set attached) with life orb, mostly for my sun matchup.

I am also considering Rillaboom (though I wouldn't know what item to give it). Obviously this doesn't help with sun but will help with mega swampert specifically since I think my team might struggle to that. Lucario also learns terrain pulse so I might add that since I think that'd be fun with dual terrains but it's kind of gimmicky. I also don't really think I'm a good enough player to manage 2 terrains on the same team - I might get in my own way.

Anyway, this is what I'm mostly looking for advice on - dragonite vs rillaboom, though if you have any other suggestions for a sixth pokémon that I haven't considered (or any other advice for the team generally) that would be great!

Team improvements

This is a version of THATSAplusONE’s team, I love playing this team but I feel like I never use gengar. I was having trouble with dark types and rain teams but samurott has made that less of a problem with sacred sword and has also been an excellent utility choice. Is there any obvious problems with the team, and what mega would you suggest instead of gengar?
