Hi! Thanks for checking this thread! I am currently building a mega-dragonite team and plateuing at ~1550 elo. Just wondering if I could improve this build or if its mostly piloting error.
Mega-Dragonite is mostly the main, bulky carry. Outspeeds adamant garchomps. I either choose Whimsicot or Sableye for support, who tailwind, prio fale tears or screen. Snorlax is my second bulky attacker, but I dont bring him as often as he is very slow. With these EVs he 0KOs Kingambit with Hammer Arm and chunks Mega-Char alot. Also useful for lategame with yawns.
Arcanine also useful for support and an occasional flare blitz. Sylveon for some fairy attacks and a surprise psychic. It is able to outspeed Sneasler under Tailwind.
Currently struggling the most against glimora, yet bascs, aerodactyls and sometimes sneasler still are problematic.
Kiiinda dont wanna use incineroar or sinischa, but I can use them if really necessary.
Thanks for reading!

Don't know how much this helps but this is my mega dnite team - https://pokepast.es/9d88e37c955f7ca9
It is the norm, but ye you have to know when to use each mega so it might be a bit difficult if you are new to vgc
But I‘ve seen other mega-dnite teams using alolan ninetails
Yeah basically just started last week
Dnite should prob have protect over roost
Maybe you can use e-speed or tailwind over thunderbolt but depends on how you use it tbh
Mayb i have no redirection but sometimes I manage to predict well and get some hp back or lose the flying weaknesses
Ye but as a rule of thumb, non hard tr teams usually have 4 protect users or more to easily deal with fake out and offensive pressure
I try to set up tailwind with whimsicot alot but when it fails im usually with no speed control for the rest of the game. Tbolt i mostly use fot basc and flying types which are sent in the first turn. With fale tears whimsicott i sometimes get cheeky kills
Ooh okay
Could you send your box, wanna know what you are working with
Yeah sure one sec

I‘ve tried to utilize drag/fairy/steel core alot but didnt come to a core which felt good to use
You have incin and are using reg arcanine?
Yeah
Ooh mamoswine is rly good with dnite from my experience
You can eq spam rly well and they have rly nice offensive and defencive synergy
Kinda dont wanna use the incin. But also saw an arcanine paired with mega dnite once and thought that made sense
Yeah
Uuuh yeah sounds good, maybe instead of snorlax
You could run rain dnite
Yeah I saw that alot. Like stab hurricane Spam right
Dnite, mamo, arcanine ig, whims, corv, sneasler looks nice to me if you are going outside of rain.
Ye
Dnite, pelipper, archaladon, swampert, annihilape, maushold looks rly nice
Is dnite as special attacker enough? Team looks good tho
With mega swampert yeah?
Ye
Ye
Dnite doesn't hit insanely hard but its hard to kill
Alright! On the first team, tailwind on whims and corv or just whims?
Just whims
They share weaknesses so very little reason to use one over the other for tailwind purpouses but corv also has the bulk up set
Alright will try it out, thanks!
