Summary
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments server is buzzing with a community discussion on optimizing a Mega Evolution-focused team. Members are debating the best sixth-slot additions to cover fairy and ground weaknesses while analyzing potential synergies with Froslass, Scovillain, and Garchomp. This thread provides valuable insights into competitive team building and strategic decision-making for specialized VGC formats.
For the megas only challenge these five feel good but I have no idea what to put in the sixth slot. I’m thinking Glimmora but she leaves me with zero ground resists. Aero kind of fits and gives us tailwind but 4 rock weaknesses feels like asking to get treated as fodder.

Is that bax mega?
I have no experience in such formats, like mega only
ohh is it for mega only
but you do share 3 fairy weaknesses, and have nothing to hit them back for super effective
maybe steel or poison megas
Yeah and scovillian is an gamble with moody
Bax no, the planned megas are Froslass and Scovillain
I was considering Meganium but I haven’t used Scovillain before and it resists fairy
Oh maybe I reconsider garchomp
That didn’t even occur to me
use glimorra for the last slot
to help you cover that fairy weakness that destroys your team
also it would fit nicely with froslass and baxca bc they check glimmo's ground weakness
I’m kind of considering swapping garchomp for skarm
Tailwind and ground immunity and dairy resist
Okay I see where you're going
I'm not the best when it comes to team building but that seems like a great switch
Since you're looking for who to give that empty slot try swampert it has only one weakness and deals with your rock type issue it also has good water coverage
