From 0AD to 1800AD the Romans/Their Church had absolute power over Christians in the western world.
They eradicated (killed) and persecuted anyone (even European Nations) that didn't align with their forced 4th century creeds.
Jesus and his Apostles taught "The Way" which is what their teachings were called back then.

Roman influence is pretty absolute. What's known as "Christians" didn't exist until Jesus, who lived and died within the borders of the Roman Empire/Late Republic
