Dating was never a thing in the Bible; it was primarily arranged marriage. So how do you start a biblical relationship with someone? Dating seems like a trap for lust and not for growth together, so how do you go about it now?

I think there are certain practices that we adapt to the modern day. Take marriage and dating, for example. In ancient Jewish custom, betrothal was a legally and covenantally binding commitment that occurred well before the marriage was consummated. Today, people may become engaged or promise themselves to one another without that commitment carrying the same legal or covenantal force, and they may ultimately choose not to follow through. We’re Christians, not merely inheritors of the Jewish covenant, so I don’t want to assume that the OT’s marriage laws are exactly equivalent to God’s blueprint for Christian marriage.

You date to marry follow all the rules set in place

Its not a trap for lust only if you make it one

I fall into quite often and my wonderful girlfriend knows about it and she helps me the best she can and she doesn't push to want more kisses or cuddles if I say its to much

Set boundaries understand what is to much and what isnt

Read both books 1 and 2 Corinthians focus on what God says about love

If love fails that means it was never love.
