Lest we forget, the potter has made many pots for himself, some for honor and others dishonor. The blessing of being able to serve the Creator in any way is by grace, as well as the faith to believe it... our works under the law when James wrote his epistle were still a requirement, as evidenced by the fact these Messianic disciples of Jesus of Nazareth are scattered into synagogues in other cities around Jerusalem.
The worst fate mentioned in scripture is to have an almost perfect vessel, but somehow was flawed. These aren't able to be used for their intended purposes, but still look good on a shelf... for - reasons!
