FanBase's MCP is going live soon, and it's working great!

For context, we're doing this as a growth experiment, because this enables us to list FanBase as an app on the ChatGPT app store. But it's also a feature that some users asked for, and this is a feature we hope will attract a cohort of more AI-native brands/creators.

For now, the MCP is mostly linked to the CRM data available within FanBase, allowing you to better understand how your audience engages with you across socials. It's also linked to your fan app if you have one, so teams like G2, Vitality, TL etc... will be able to get both their fan app data + social engagement data directly accessible via this MCP.

Next, we will look at adding more features to allow (for example) users to write posts directly within ChatGPT and Claude Code, and publish it across all socials via our MCP.

Some quick updates on what I shared last week.

• Shopify integration is currently being tested in staging. We have no visibility on how long the approval process will take, but we're getting ready to start the outreach once FanBase gets listed on the Shopify App Store.
• FanBase's MCP is also being tested (see the screenshot attached). In full transparency, that's a growth experiment with no guarantee this will be a valid funnel for user acquisition, but it's worth a try. Our assumption is that 1) listing FanBase has an app will help ChatGPT index our app and promote it (e.g. to people asking for DM automation solution as an example), and 2) it's also a feature some early-adopters requested.

We're looking at next Tuesday for the release of FanBase's improved website, paired with the release of the video Louis ~~teased~~ leaked above 👀

quick weekly update on what's happening with FanBase. I will try to record myself on a weekly basis, otherwise share a written update.

Product

• Louis shared above the video we will release in the coming days. The current https://fanbase.gg/ website is very focused on DMs automation, and we're working on an improved website that presents FanBase as a social marketing platform - allowing us to also engage with brands/creators that aren't familiar with DMs automation as a feature.
• We're making progress with the ByteDance/TikTok team to get access to their Messaging API, which will allow us to offer DM automation on TikTok as well. It's actually something very few companies have access to as the due-diligence process is quite tedious, but we're getting there.
• We're working on Shopify integration, as well as listing FanBase as a ChatGPT app. Our biggest challenge is user acquisition, so we're treating those integrations as growth experiments, as listing FanBase on the platform's app store will give us additional visibility.

Growth

• We're still very early revenue-wise. We have a handful of creators paying for the tool, and a few bigger brands (including our existing partners) on an extended free trial.
• We've signed a few creators who will start promoting FanBase on Instagram in the coming days, and have a lot of other ongoing experiments (for both organic and paid acquisition).

In full transparency, the team working on FanBase is not happy with the progress in terms of traction/revenue. But we know the product has potential, and the opportunity is big enough (e.g. ManyChat recently raising $140M, AI-native products raising/getting acquired like Fin AI) for us to keep pushing.

And since those of you who are on Discord are our most active and valuable community members, a few additional insights relevant to the article:

• While the new FanBase product serves a much wider market, we stay rooted in gaming and esports. I know it's why some of you initially invested in XBorg, and we will continue to serve top tier esports orgs, improve our fan engagement solution (the one used by teams today) and find new clients.
• In due time, we will make all FanBase core metrics publicly available. To be transparent, we're still quite early with the go-to-market of this new product, and most of the key users of the app (Liquipedia, Bruno PlayHard, G2, Alan Walker to name a few) are still on extended free trials, and product usage varies a lot depending on the various experiments we run.
• I'm also preparing another article, this one more focused on XBorg and co-written with Lou, to give more insights on how current resources (budget, team, focus) are spent across FanBase and Propr, and share some general updates on how we see the rest of 2026 playing out, ahead of an upcoming AMA we will organise on Discord.
