steadyknight-96 OP

I already tried to build a team on him when the game launched back in april and after the first Reg M-A season i used some other teams to learn more about how the meta likes to play and now i want to try build a team on him again, but the few things he can do is threaten Basculegion, Delphox and eat easily hits from Kingambit, which ins't bad, but it is weak TO A LOT of the meta, charizard easily OHKO's it with solar beam, floette also OHKO's it with dazzling gleam, staraptor also OHKO's it with close combat and the list goes on.

I know that every pokemon (except charizard Y because he can do almost anything) have it's weakness, but what he can do (at least in perspective) is heavilly overweighted by what he's weak to, and i already seen some people saying that they were using Hisuian-Samurott and that he was doing well so PLS help me make a team on it

Hisuian samurott can't work in a vacuum, I would caution against making a team surrounding him to be the sweeper and would encourage more of an idea of making him a support that threatens something that a different sweeper just need a bit of coverage for

@steadyknight-96 I already tried to build a team on him when the game launched back in april and after the first Reg…
silvercactus-53

Yeah it's great in theory

silvercactus-53

Beating two out of the big three is a great feat

silvercactus-53

Also has a good match up into gengar which is relatively common and phox

silvercactus-53

Also can deal great damage into stuff like Raichu with sucker punch and also has ceaseless edge in case your other Pokémon need chip to get kills

silvercactus-53

Maybe some sash set? I am not really suee

silvercactus-53

Sure

steadyknight-96 OP

I was excited to Reg M-B because i wanted to pair samurott with mega golisopod, since it would be able to threat some fire types that aren't charizard, but since GF is coward and didn't released it, i'm starting to think it can help Mega Delphox pretty well since Basculegion is threaten by it and Kingambit can't KO Samurott before it 2HKO' it at worst with sacred sword if the Kingambit have the chople berry

@steadyknight-96 I was excited to Reg M-B because i wanted to pair samurott with mega golisopod, since it would be a…
silvercactus-53

I think it has upper hand?

silvercactus-53

That might be a niche with phox?

steadyknight-96 OP

Yeah you're right, but i think it still have a niche against arch if you get it to 60% or lower since it will OHKO it right away (can also test your luck all the way up to 70%)

@steadyknight-96 Yeah you're right, but i think it still have a niche against arch if you get it to 60% or lower sin…
silvercactus-53

Wait no way ss kills 60% arch

silvercactus-53

Max hp

steadyknight-96 OP

It Kills 27 HP

steadyknight-96 OP

So max must be a good chance to kill

silvercactus-53

That's interesting

silvercactus-53

My headcalc is overestimating Archaludon

quickjewel-96

Btw most people run night slash over ceaseless edge in double. No chance to miss and spikes aren't really as useful in doubles

silvercactus-53

Is that adamant no item calc

silvercactus-53

Night slash is a call but like ceaseless edge definitely helps in some teams

silvercactus-53

Like yeah you are gambling

@silvercactus-53 Is that adamant no item calc
steadyknight-96 OP

Yes

silvercactus-53

But the chip is needed in some calcs

quickjewel-96

It has less power, doesn't have heightened crit rate and can miss. It really doesn't help tbh

silvercactus-53

Like my bulky Sneasler leaves Raichu with 2%

silvercactus-53

So spikes help there

silvercactus-53

Idk I really Iike passive damage sources

silvercactus-53

Can help you turn games around

quickjewel-96

They can be nice, but in general you just aren't benefiting compared to night slash

@silvercactus-53 Like my bulky Sneasler leaves Raichu with 2%
steadyknight-96 OP

I never thinked i would see someone trying to use bulky sneasler

silvercactus-53

Again I'm a singles player so I am overestimating ceaseless

quickjewel-96

I have seen it before and it can be good on some teams

@steadyknight-96 I never thinked i would see someone trying to use bulky sneasler
silvercactus-53

It's common on Italian ice

silvercactus-53

Or veil in general

@silvercactus-53 Again I'm a singles player so I am overestimating ceaseless
quickjewel-96

Oh yeah singles ceaseless all day long. Doubles you really just don't get much benefit from hazards

silvercactus-53

From what I know

silvercactus-53

Yeah I am a singles player who likes playing doubles

silvercactus-53

But I still will push for ceaseless I just think there are

silvercactus-53

Soooo many calculations you can just straight up ruin

silvercactus-53

For you opponent

silvercactus-53

Like oh my whimsicott will survive dwb in the endgame and get a second twind

silvercactus-53

Boom spikes up endgame wincon ruined

silvercactus-53

Just an example of a calculation in my mind

silvercactus-53

Idk might just be biased

silvercactus-53

Between sucker punch and ceaseless seems like the Mon to do that annoying job

silvercactus-53

Outside of scovillain ofc

quickjewel-96

Yes those are fair points and on paper you are correct, however with sharpness, the added boost from 70 bp heightened crit over 65 no heightened crit is just overall better. It severely adjusts rolls and flying/levitate aren't immune, which I know are less common in singles

silvercactus-53

Ceaseless is sharp

silvercactus-53

It gets boosted

steadyknight-96 OP

Also with the hightened crit chance i could use the scope lens to make it 50% of an crit happening

silvercactus-53

Nvm I misread

silvercactus-53

Idk I don't see the point in that 5 bp

silvercactus-53

Like if you miss out on a kill just sucker anyw

silvercactus-53

And flying Mons aren't that much more common in doubles

silvercactus-53

If anything you are leading with it

silvercactus-53

For twind

silvercactus-53

I know a lot of Mons that would like just a little boost to kill an endgame Basc/Gambit

silvercactus-53

Or not having to play around sash

silvercactus-53

Also could you please provider examples of severely adjusted rolls

silvercactus-53

I don't really feel it does as much

@silvercactus-53 Idk I don't see the point in that 5 bp
steadyknight-96 OP

32+ Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Aqua Cutter vs. 32 HP / 0 Def Incineroar: 188-224 (93 - 110.8%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

32+ Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Razor Shell vs. 32 HP / 0 Def Incineroar: 204-240 (100.9 - 118.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

It ins't with intimidate activated btw

silvercactus-53

I am not talking about that difference btw

silvercactus-53

Ceas Vs night slash

silvercactus-53

Water is obviously the preferred stab into the format

steadyknight-96 OP

Boosted ceaseless edge is 97.5 power and boosted night slash is 105 power

silvercactus-53

And what are you clicking them into making difference

silvercactus-53

It needs to pick up the kill with the diff otherwise you just sucker

silvercactus-53

Samurott-Hisui @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sharpness
EVs: 32 Atk / 1 Def / 1 SpD / 32 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Sacred Sword
- Razor Shell

silvercactus-53

This would probably be my take but again niche

@silvercactus-53 Samurott-Hisui @ Focus Sash Ability: Sharpness EVs: 32 Atk / 1 Def / 1 SpD / 32 Spe Adamant Nature…
steadyknight-96 OP

I really hate not having protect on a mon just to have more attacking moves i would Esther use something like aqua cutter, night slash, sacred and protect

silvercactus-53

I mean go ahead I hate the lack of sucker but it's your team

silvercactus-53

I'd pair it with farigiraf for the reason you need sash 4a

steadyknight-96 OP

Wdy with 4a

silvercactus-53

Four attacks

quickjewel-96

Yeah like we are trying to help build it but if you are going to do your own thing and it doesn't work it's like we are doing the best we can

quickjewel-96

Sucker is basically mandatory unfortunately

quickjewel-96

and you really should be looking at that coverage

quickjewel-96

Unfortunately Samurott is one of those mons that you get lucky to get two attacks off with and then it's gone

quickjewel-96

So here is my example for slash vs edge btw just as an example

quickjewel-96

not the best example because aqua cutter is better here

quickjewel-96

32+ Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Night Slash vs. 2 HP / 0 Def Mega Swampert: 81-96 (45.7 - 54.2%) -- 47.27% chance to 2HKO

steadyknight-96 OP

Hummm, i think will try sucker with no protect then, i already seen some Kingambits drop it to have low kick so maybe it's worth it

quickjewel-96

32+ Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Ceaseless Edge vs. 2 HP / 0 Def Mega Swampert: 76-90 (42.9 - 50.8%) -- 2.73% chance to 2HKO

quickjewel-96

Rarely is samurott a mon that can pick up an OHKO, but that difference in chip is big

quickjewel-96

Thought of a WAY better one hold on

quickjewel-96

32+ Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Ceaseless Edge vs. 32 HP / 2 Def Farigiraf: 212-252 (93.3 - 111%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

32+ Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Night Slash vs. 32 HP / 2 Def Farigiraf: 228-270 (100.4 - 118.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

steadyknight-96 OP

Idk if i run sash or life orb, since it can take non-super effective physical hits, but special neutral hits already does a lot to it

quickjewel-96

Generally sash is the way to go tbh. It just isn't bulky enough to survive big hits

steadyknight-96 OP

0 SpA Sinistcha Matcha Gotcha vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Samurott-Hisui: 114-134 (69 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO - (32 - 37.6% recovered)

don't matter how many times i see this, i always wonder how he can survive that

quickjewel-96

Because of doubles

quickjewel-96

literally the only reason

steadyknight-96 OP

Now i have a base: Mega Delphox and Hisuian-Samurott, what else you guys think i can use? I thinking about making this one of those StarPhox teams

steadyknight-96 OP

I think sinis could be better since i can make the Water-Fire-Grass core with it

steadyknight-96 OP

Samurott can kinda deal with Kingambit, but someone else to do the job is good

steadyknight-96 OP

Sneasler maybe?

quickjewel-96

If you are making starphox you basically have to have sash glim or it doesn't work

steadyknight-96 OP

Mega Staraptor + Mega Delphox

steadyknight-96 OP

Lmao

steadyknight-96 OP

Ok

steadyknight-96 OP

I wanted to add either Grimmsnarl or nine for dmg control but alr

steadyknight-96 OP

Yeah but i also consedering Sneasler to deal with Kingambit and fairys at once while also having fake out

steadyknight-96 OP

The problem is that i might find a matchup were Kingambit threaten Delphox but their main wincon (for example floette) threats staraptor

steadyknight-96 OP

I would be able to do so if this format wasn't so intimidate punishing

steadyknight-96 OP

Wdy with individual moves (srry if i sound dumb)

steadyknight-96 OP

Ok thx

steadyknight-96 OP

Ok, i will get to master ball using the team i have, and then take clips of 10 battles in master ball tier so then we can analyze what we can improve, sounds good to you?

steadyknight-96 OP

Also, this might took a while since i dont have a lot of free time to play this week (i'm also very addictived to minecraft rn)

steadyknight-96 OP

Ok guys i finally get master ball tier, now i just have to record 10 games using the native record feature in the switch turn by turn and then put them all toghether because i don't have a capture card and my phone don't support champions 🥲(also the last turn against a perish trap team)

Yeah lol a member was asking for Samurott details and yeah this is legit all we have haha 😛

steadyknight-96 OP

Just for curiosity, what is that eclipse trying to do with this info? Is he also trying to use Samurott?

merrykitten-85

Yeah just wanted some help on samurott

steadyknight-96 OP

For what i learned i M-A and M-B, it is very usefull when you can position it right, but as Reg M-C i think it is pretty hard to make it work with the abbundance of Rillaboom, Raichu Y, Mega Golisopod and Incineroar, the only new thing that makes you think about using it is Gholdengo's rise in usage, besides that, it don't have a lot going for it (my poor boy 😭😭😭).
