Wheres your sitrus??
Tf are you smoking
Sitrus isn’t a necessity!
Ask your a.i to compare the teams
Aigh
Are you on pc rn?
TL;DR: Team 2 is the stronger team for M-C. Its Incineroar and Gholdengo handle the new threats better, and it spends fewer turns on setup. Team 1 has the single best rain attacker of either team in Archaludon, but too many of its slots are support.
Some format context first. M-C keeps every Pokémon from previous sets and adds Mega Salamence, Mega Golisopod and Mega Baxcalibur, plus Mega Absol Z, Mega Garchomp Z and Mega Lucario Z, along with returning VGC staples like Rillaboom. Indeedee is also back, which means Psychic Terrain Trick Room teams. Those additions are what separate your two teams. pokemon pokemon-zone
What they share. Both run the same core: Mega Meganium, Pelipper and Basculegion. Mega Meganium treats its own moves as if they were in sun, so Solar Beam and Fire-type Weather Ball still work while Pelipper keeps rain up. Because the core is identical, the decision comes down to the other three slots.
Why Team 2 is better
- Incineroar is the key difference. Intimidate covers your weakness to physical attackers like Mega Salamence and Garchomp Z. Parting Shot lets you switch Pelipper out and back in to reset the rain. It also matches up well against Rillaboom, which otherwise threatens Basculegion and Pelipper's partners.
- Gholdengo can't be hit by Fake Out, resists Dragon, and gives you a Nasty Plot win condition that doesn't depend on weather.
- Imprison plus Trick Room on Farigiraf is the better anti-Trick Room tool, which matters with Indeedee in the format. Colbur Berry and Chople Berry also cover the obvious checks to Farigiraf and Incineroar.
Where Team 1 falls short
- Too much setup. Tailwind, Reflect and Light Screen, and Trick Room are three different setup plans, which leaves only three real attackers.
- Grimmsnarl's Prankster is blocked by Psychic Terrain whenever the target is grounded, which is a real problem against Indeedee.
- Timid Pelipper gives up damage for no clear reason. Team 2's Modest version is better.
- Archaludon is still excellent. Electro Shot charges instantly in rain, and it pairs well with Life Orb. It's the main thing Team 2 lacks.
A push-back that applies to both teams. Running Trick Room alongside Swift Swim and Tailwind is a mode conflict. If you set Trick Room in rain, your fast attackers end up moving last. On Team 2 it works as a counter to opposing Trick Room thanks to Imprison. On Team 1 it's mostly a fourth plan that rarely fits the game you're actually playing.
If you want to improve Team 2, try Archaludon in place of Farigiraf, accepting that you lose the anti-Trick Room tool. You'd need to move Life Orb from Basculegion to Archaludon and give Basculegion Mystic Water, since the item clause allows only one of each item. I'd test both versions in ladder games before committing, because I can't see current M-C usage stats to tell how common Trick Room is right now.
It thought for 2.5 minutes
I thought for like ten to make the team on mine I was using the most advanced model I could 🙈
Interesting shit hey
I do prefer dengo
Yeah I see why it thinks that on a rain team
I mean in general
It helps alot with the sneasler issue i had
I also had the idea of meganium+rain, but I thought I'd pair it with rillaboom for extra powerful solar beams, perhaps ancient power as a coverage option, and archaludon for in the rain instead of swift swim bascu.
I like your idea of putting farigiraf in the team though.
This could also pair well with a potentially trickroom dependent second mega option like gollisopod
