Summary
Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments presents a team review from a new f2p player. The announcement flags threats like Sneasler, Garchomp, and Rain Archaludon and notes no clear Trick Room answer. It covers detailed suggestions for Meganium, Mega Tyranitar, Basculegion, Excadrill, Whimsicott, and using Farigiraf as a Trick Room counter, plus item and moveset tweaks.
Sneasler, garchomp, and rain archaludon can be big threats. Also I don't have a clear answer to trick room.
I admit this team is a bit random, but I'm a new f2p player with limited resources

Okay, im gonna adress each pokemon
Meganium: The moveset is good, but the SP investment is bad. Meganium benefits from being a bulky attacker, so the speed investment is pushing u back.
Tyranitar: Mega Ttar makes a ton of sense in ur team. I would change Crunch for Knock Off becase it hits harder and has more utility. Make sure that the Speed investment combined iwth Dragon Dance hits a specific benchmark, if not, then cut the speed and change Dragon Dance for Low Kick
Basculegion is perfect, but Wave Crash hits harder if u need the extra damage
Excadrill, it already has high attack (135) and Sand Rush, while being frail. Its not the best pokemon for swowrds dance, you are better with protect and just dealing raw damage. As of the damage, i wowuld put a focus sash on Excadrill. The SPs are good tho
Whimsicott, because i said to put the sash on Ecadrill, i would put Mental Herb on Whimsicott, since Sash already breaks with your own sandstorm anyway. As of the moves, Encore is better than Light Screen, and Moonblast hits harder than Giga Drain. The SPs are not good, as u only have Giga Drain yet push towards offensive investment, i would make it a bulky fast support
And Farigiraf, thats ur counter to trick room, sicne Farigiraf can use Trick Room and twist the dimensions back to normal. The moveset is bad. Helping Hand is good, but your opponents will not give u time to use E Force + Psychic Terrain (Psychic Terrain isnt even that good since farigiraf already stops priority).I would also change reflect for a psychic move, like Twin Beam / Psychic, for Sneasler. And Farigiraf isnt a fast mon, go full on the bulk, speed doesnt matter on farigiraf when the pokemon needs to stay alive
also, consider rock slide on Excadrill, you can just win matches by spamming rock slide
If u are wondering about Farigiraf, a standard set would be Twin Beam / Psychic , Helping Hnad , Protect , Trick Room
overall its a good hyper offensive sand team with a clear sand duo + Basculegion. If u were to improve the SP investments and change the moves, then it will be really strong
Thanks you for the analysis
Sash on excadrill sounds like a good idea, the reason for swordsdancd was to deal with walls, to one shot mega scovillain, to apply pressure if the opponent is stalling and rarely for late games where I need damage.
Gigadrain was there to help with longevity and because this team is generally weak to water types, though I do agree that the SPs are a little wack
That was the reasoning behind a couple choices but I realize yours is really sound advice and I'll be adapting the team accordingly
i see. But honestly, wouldnt a bulky M Meganium be better against water types?
Most likely yeah
Yes, I've made the changes you suggested, but kept swordsdance on excadrill, and the team feels much better now. Thank you!
It's mostly a countermeasure for mega scovillain and other defensive teams, those do leave you with time to set up. I've found myself using it often enough and I don't find myself needing to protect much since I'm so fast
