Looking for a completely new team for Singles, Honestly I never surpassed Great Ball Rank 4, so if I even get past that I'll be happy

For singles I think meowscarada was good since it could hit many different types with STAB due to its ability. And now we got cinderace newly added, which can make use of the same ability, just with more attack and bulk in return for ~5 less speed.

Hisuian samurot or glimmora are good for setting entry hazards.

You could also try to make a baton pass team so you'd start with someone who got the speed boost ability like blaziken. But I don't think baton pass is that good right now since most people don't play it.

You could also use your first Mon to set up weather, terrain, or speed control (sticky web/tailwind/trickroom).

So after you picked a Pokémon that you want to start with, go see what this Pokémon is weak too and get two mins that cover those weaknesses (assuming there are enough weaknesses that you need two mins for them).

I also think that first impression from golisopod could be strong even in singles since it's a very powerful first move and there's only three Pokémon.

So let me just make an example:

Golisopod is great, but it has fire weakness. We try to fix that weakness by getting a Pokémon with water, stone, or ground attacks or at least typing.
Garchomp, hippowdon, aerodactyl or glimmora would be nice picks for ground/stone.
Primarina/basculegion/gyarados/H.Samurott would be nice water options.

If we want the ground/stone option we already get our entry hazards and/or weather control or speed control with it.
If we pick from the water options, only H.Samurott gives entry hazards and only gyrados can allow speed control.

But the current speed control options are all tailwind, which is useless on golisopod so we forget about gyarados and aerodactyl.

Of course there are many more options but let's just say we decide on garchomp since it's strong and can also set entry hazards.
Garchomp has an ice weakness.
Thankfully Ice also has a lot of weaknesses, one of them being steel which you got covered by golisopod.

So as a third Pokémon we don't have to pick something that covers a weakness since every weaknesses is already somewhat covered.

Instead we can look at which Pokémon would benefit both our current picks.
- > both Pokémon are immune to sandstorm due to their typing, maybe we could get a sand setter.
- > hippowdon or tyranitar.

Let's pick hippowdon and also let it set entry hazards so we don't have to waste a move slot on garchomp for that

Ideally you'd now test this trio in some battles, find out the weaknesses, and then decide on a second mode that is strong against whatever makes your team weak.
But I'd say you should try out making a trio yourself now

Salamanence is expected to be pretty strong, so maybe build around him. Just be careful of fairy types since then you'd have two dragons in the team

You can also have your first Mon set screens to make the later mons take less damage instead of setting hazards, weather, terrain, or speed control
